Paul

Paul was taught how to memorize and quote scripture which would allow him to tell it to other later on.

Paul was also taught the craft of tent making, this would also help him survive on his missionary trips later as well.

God could use me to share what he is like to others that may not know him.

God could also use me by sharing my time at Zealand Christian to show others what a Christian community is.

So in the end I can tell others about how I have been at Zealand christian and my experiences with God.

Stoning of Stephen reflection

I did a news paper article that I turned in on moodle.

I think I did well on capturing the events on a news paper style.

I think that if I saw this event I would be pretty shocked.

I am a little bit aggravated that he did not help Stephen.

I think that the early Christians only kept doing this because they had great faith in Jesus since his miracles seemed to be of great power and the Christians would fight for him. they respected Jesus as above them and they wanted to follow him.

Beginning of the year reflections

One thing i’ve learned this year is that bed bugs mutate over time to survive against bed bug spray.one thing i’ve enjoyed  was the 8th grade leadership camp since I got to go kayaking.
One thing i’m exited about is timberwolf in the spring. Its supposedly overnight so that will be fun.

What I did this summer.

I really didn’t do much this summer but I did go to a waterpark.

It was fun there were a couple water slides and we did all of them they were pretty fun.

We went on a family ride of four and my mom screamed her head off and the whole park heard her.

I went on a racing slide and i raced my sister and won.

We got in our room and it was pretty big but it was freezing.

there was also this really scary ride that dropped down a good  ten feet.

I admired the slide and thought maybe next time.

we woke up the next day and ate breakfast and went back to the waterpark.

I looked at the slide and said to myself why not as I went for the stairs.

I got to the top and got in and three two one drop I got a concussion.

Africa Questions

I know some of the stereotypes of africa are:

Black people that carry water.

People that are poor.

tons of poverty.

These are JUST stereotypes and not necessarily the truth.

some stories that are missing are the ones that have people making change in communities. the only story that people believe is that africa is a extremely poor place.

The dangers of single stories are that people can spread false rumors about africa.

movie questions

What stood out to me in this movie was that they purposely sent people to jail in hopes of spreading word around the country. another thing that I didn’t know was that they sprayed them with fire hoses and called them the N word.

I really do not have very many connections but it was still interesting to see.

Again i will think of thus differently because it showed me some new things.

Immigration day

Yesterday we experienced some stories from immigrants like my mother and Marten VanEyk.

The first immigrant we talked to was my mother Marianne Raitz, she told us about her home costa rica and how its different from the us. She said it wasn’t difficult for her but yes it was for her kids. She spoke about food and lots of other things.

The second person we talked to was Marten VanEyke he came from Holland and he was still very used to wearing his wooden shoes and playing the harmonica “Dutch style”He was very nice and he told us about food and his culture while comparing it to american culture.
