Mystery story

One day, Isaac went to go to the grocery store with his mom. While he was there, he saw a Lamborghini in the parking lot. Isaac told his mom he forgot something in the car and he would catch up with her. His mom kept walking towards the store. Isaac waited till he couldn’t see his mom anymore and his mom couldn’t see him. Isaac walked up to the car, Looked inside of it through the window, then reached for the handle. What he didn’t know was that I was in the car. When I heard the handle shake, I immediately panicked. I jumped in the seat that was in the back, not thinking that the person who was opening the door could’ve had a gun. When I saw that it was Isaac, I screamed, “Isaac, what are you doing.” He looked at me with a worried look on his face that told me he knew he was in trouble.

“I… Uh… I just wanted to look at this um car,” he stuttered.

“Is this your parents?” he said trying to get off topic.

“Yes, it is. Why were you opening the door?” I confusingly asked.

“well I wanted to see the interior of it,” He said. I looked at him, trying to figure out if he was a really good liar or if that was the actual truth. “I know you probably don’t believe me, but I actually wanted to know. I love looking at cars. Everything about them get’s me excited.” he said making it more convincing to me. “Well how am I supposed to believe that you are not just making up a lie,” I asked trying to make him think.

“I can prove it to you,” he said. “I have this book that I have that has cut out pictures of different cars with the different types of interiors. I can show you if you want. I have it in my car.” I looked at him.

“No, No, I don’t need to see it,” I said.

“I wanted to take a picture of the interior of the car to put in my book,” He held up his phone. “I promise I wasn’t going to do anything to this beautiful, sweet car,” he looked all around it thinking of how nice it would be to have it.

“Ok,” I said.

“I should probably go now. Um thanks for…” He didn’t know how to finish the sentence. “Um thanks for understanding.” he hurried off before I got a chance to say ur welcome. When the next day came, I got ready to go to school. We picked up Marissa and drove there. When we walked in the door Isaac was standing by Zach and Sadie, talking about something. We walked over there and the conversation went dead. “Hey guys,” Marissa said. “Uh hey Mars and Addi,” Zach said while everyone else just looked at us.

My dad picked me and Marissa up from school when it ended. I saw sadie look at my dad’s car. She was writing something down but I couldn’t tell what.

“Hey Sadie, whatchya doin?” I asked.

“Oh, uh nothing just admiring this cool car!” she said hesitating a little. Later that night I got a call from my dad telling me that his car was stolen out of his work parking lot. I immediately called Isaac and talked to him and told him what happened. I was determined that he was the one who stole it, but he said he was at his cousins all night. “Who do you think did it then?” I asked Isaac.

“well I was talking to Zach and Sadie and they said they’ve always wanted to see those cars in action,” Isaac said.

I said thanks for his information and hung up. I called Sadie and she answered. “Hey Sade, did you hear about my dad’s car?” I asked.

“Yes, I did. Do we know who did it?” she asked. She didn’t seem suspicious at all.

“Well no not yet. This is actually why I am calling you. why were you looking at my dad’s car after school?” I said.

“Oh well, Addi, the only reason I was looking at it is because I had to write the license plate number down for my dad. There was a car stolen in his car lot that was a lamborghini too and it also was the same color. He needed to know the license plate number to see if this was the car. I didn’t tell you because my dad didn’t want your dad to think we were accusing you of anything.” She explained.

“Oh that makes sense,” I said. Thanks for your information. I hung up. I thought very hard on what happened these last two days. Then, I remembered Zach talking to Marissa in between classes. He asked something about when my family was going to leave. He also asked where my dad worked and for how long. When I heard him ask that, I saw Marissa’s confused face. She asked him why he needed to know. Zach’s face turned red then he kinda stuttered. “Well, I was just wondering,” He said. Then he left to his next class. I also remembered, in art, we had to pick our future car and draw it. He picked the exact same one as what my dad’s was. I thought about it. I wondered if it could’ve been him. I called my dad and he answered. “Hey did we find anything on who stole your car?” I asked.

“Well,” he said, “I am at the police station right now and I just looked at the cameras in the parking lot. He seems to have blonde hair and he looks very short. He looks very young too.” I thought for a minute. All of the things matched up with Zach. It’s him, I thought. Two hours later we saw my dad’s car in a garage by an old, abandoned house 2 miles away from my dad’s work. All of the clues matched up. that night, they found Zach and arrested him for stealing my dad’s car.
