Hi :)

The Prices is Right

For the fast two weeks in math we have been learning about probability through the price is right games show. At first we watched an episode of the price is right and saw some of the different games that they play. Then, in our groups, we made our own games and learned about the probability of winning or losing.

Something we learned about is that almost always the percentages are 50% or less for the player. Also we learned that it would be really hard to find out the percentages on of the games where you had to drop a ball and if it went into one of the holes you won. You would have to measure the surface area that wasn’t a hole but also the angle that you put the ball in and a lot of things.

I think that this was a lot different than the normal math. I liked it a lot because it was a brake from what we usually do. Also it was a fun way to learn instead of just learning from the math bookPhoto on 3-20-15 at 11.10 AM #3
