Science Chain

In Science we had to make a chain that would be able to hold Weights. The weights were 200g, 400g, 600g, 800g, 1000g. The chain needs to be able to hold all of these at the same time. It first we tried one rubber band in between each pipe cleaner but it was too weak and the rubber band was going to snap to be doubled them up and then it streched pretty far but still worked. The materials we used on this chain were; 10 pipe cleaners, a few inches of string and 10 rubber bands. The chain seems to work out well but we will have to see how it does during the 30 second test.

Names of Jesus

This week in Bible we have been studying different names of Jesus. I have the name (or Names) “My Lord and My God.”  The Meaning nowdays would be like saying “My Master.”

I think this verse Applies to Jesus in his Divinity Because It is talking about My Lord And God and God is in heaven and the two of those are connected which makes me think that he is referring to heaven when he says “My Lord and my God.”

Theme Writing

Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through him.

Selfless

Selfless means to me that we need to have Less of ourselves and more of others. We came up with the theme by selecting different Bible verses from the Bible and coming up with the one that most suited our class. I can apply this theme to my life as an 8th grader at Zeeland Christian School and to my life in the community and in the world.

This year’s theme can apply to my life here at Zeeland Christian School. Ways I can be Selfless in my everyday 8th grade life are; Letting other kids go before me when I rush to the Pizza line on Thursday. Or saying Hi to the 6th grader who seems scared of the older kids in the hall. Or helping a special needs kid do something they wouldn’t be able to do on their own. These are just some ways I can live out my theme Selfless in my school.

This year’s theme also applies to my life outside of school. Ways I can be Selfless in my Community and around the world are; Talking to someone while you’re waiting in line for something. Or bringing food the the local food pantry to help the homeless. Or praying for your community. These are just some ways I can live out my theme Selfless in my Community.

This year’s theme means to me as a Christian that we need to reflect Christ by being selfless. Christ was never selfish. He was always thinking about others and not himself. Healing the sick and teaching others.

I can apply the theme “selfless” to my life as an 8th grader at Zeeland Christian School and to my life in the community and in the world. Selfless means to me that we need to have less of ourselves and more of others.
