The Help by Kathryn Stockett
The Help is a halorious and a great time waster book that takes place back in the early 1960’s and shows lives of 3 different woman . It shows that ups and down of the life of the dark skinned people in 1960 and how it was seen in their eyes.
In The Help it tells a story from 3 different woman in Jackson Mississippi. Aibileen, Minny, and Skeeter. When Skeeter decides to write a book about household maids in her hometown she finds that Aibileen and Minny do not mind telling her what they think. A friendship starts to bond with these 3. Each one sharing their thoughts about serving a white family. It tells you from each one’s perspective what they think about bumps in the road that happen in the book. Through out this wonderful and beautifully written book Stockett really captures the point of view of a household maid as if it was her own. The Help is a must read.
Many who have read The Help can all agree that one part in where Minny makes a decision that may come back a bit her in the butt is the cherry on top of the cake. As soon as you read The Help you will find that you love this part as much as others do.
I recommend this book to those who love Historical Fiction.
If you love The Help you will enjoy any book that takes you from a multi perspective.
very well written Chloe!
