We made a composite volcano with paper mache. It is similar to Mt. St Helens. We made a lava flow on it and also a side vent with diet coke and mints. Also we had a pipe that was diet coke and mints. There is also a crater and lava. There is also a vent and ash and magma and a chamber and layers of the volcano.
I think God has been preparing me for do help people in need. When I went to Costa Rica and I saw all the needy people. It really hurt my heart and I felt like I was called to do something about it. Also when we went to a island where everything got destroyed from a flood, and yet they were all so happy it made me confused. I always heard about Americans can be ungrateful at times but that was the first time I experienced it. So I think I should be more grateful for what I have and give more to the needy. God has also given me the ability to play sports so I think I can work through him like that.
I learned that Tanzania only has 30% of Christians. Also they have the highest mountain Tanzania.

The Home Run Heist
“You can do it Andre” yelled the crowd.
As he was walking up to the plate he was thinking of his checkless. Hands lose, bend your legs, use your hips. Ok here we go. The first pitch the pitcher threw was way inside. It is probably just a scare me. This will be the pitch he thought. Crack went the back as it hit the ball. The crowd cheered as it went over the fence.
“Nice hit Andre!” said Andrew.
After the Game.
“That the flew like a bird”, said Andrew.
“Thanks,” said Andre.
“Did someone get the homerun ball? It is my first one and I really want it.” said Andre.
“ Those kids over their went to get.
As he walked over there he was wondering why they just didn’t come over there and give it to him right as the game ended.
“Do you have my home run ball?” Andre asked to the kids.
“No we gave it to your friend Andrew,” said one of the kids.
“Ok thank’s” said Andre.
As Andre was walking away from the kids he was wondering why Andrew didn’t tell him that he had it, or did they just lie to him so they could play catch with it. Maybe Andrew wanted it because he was jealous because he hit a home run before him. Before he was going to leave the field he was going to investigate the scene of the crime.
When he was back where he thought he hit he saw a boy with that looked just like his.
“Is that my homerun ball?” asked Andre
All of a sudden he just starts running away from Andre. Andre started to chase him but he ran into the trees. He knew that bad things happened back there so he didn’t chase him. He didn’t see his face though. He started to walk home. As he was walking home he saw another one of his friends. His friends name is Peter. He ran up to talk to him.
“Have you seen Andrew?” asked Andre.
“No, am in charge of him or something?” asked Peter rudely.
“Fine, be that way!” said Andre just as rude.
Peter walked away and Andre just thought why is he so mean. Maybe Andrew gave him the ball to hide since he would suspect him. So Andre started to give up and walked home.
When he got home and saw his mom waiting for him.
“Where have you been!?” she asked in an angry toon.
“Someone stole my homerun ball and I don’t know who.” said Andre disappointedly.
“Why don’t you go take a swim in the pool and take your mind of things.” she said.
“Ok, I will,” said Andre.
As he started to walk towards the back yard he started to hear music and voices. When he walked out the door saw all of his friends including Peter and Andrew, and in the middle of the yard was his baseball. At first he was confused then he was mad but then he was happy because he knew where it was.
“Hey Andre come over here,” said Andrew.
“Why did you steal my home run ball?” asked Andre.
“So I could this sweat party.”
“The home run ball was just a distraction.” said Peter
“Is that why you didn’t want me to know where Andrew was peter?”
“Ya,” said Peter.
“ I thought some kid in a hoodie stole my ball. I chased him but he ran into the woods.” said Andre.
“That was me.” said Andrew, “ I ran away while you were talking to those kids. I didn’t you would find me and when you did I ran.”
“You guys are awesome.” said Andre.
“We know.” said Andrew and Peter.
“Thats go party!” said Andre
“Ya” said Andrew and Peter.

It’s important because we should know what is happening around the world to Christians. Also we know how to pray for them. Also so we can tell other people about what is happening.
In class we talked about the Ideal church vs. the early church. The ideal church vs. the early church are a lot different. When we were talking about the ideal church we were thinking about stuff we wanted. When we talked about the early church we found out they did everything for God.
I enjoyed writing about things that we have to give to God. I wrote about how I have to give my trust to God in everything. We have to just not worry about the future just do you best in the present.
I saw God threw my pastor and his sermons. He talked about orphans and how we should care for them since God does.

My book is The Mockingjay and the author is Suzanne Collins. The book is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen that has to protect her family by being the mockingjay. They are at war with the capital. They are in the bunker of 13 which they thought the capitol destroyed a long time ago. Some of the book was about how they made propaganda to go against the capital. They finally got peeta back but he went crazy because they tortured him with a weird poison. After that they went to war with the capital. They finally won but Katniss lost her sister and Gale left her to. Her mom just tried to ignore her. My thesis is there’s a price to war.
I saw my thesis when Katniss’s district got bombed. She lost almost everything besides her family and a couple friends. The capital bombed her district after she wrecked the hunger games by shooting a electric arrow into the top of the stadium. Before they actually bombed her capital she was saved by her friends in a hovercraft. She lost all of her memories and pictures and personal items in the bombing. This was the start of the actually war not just a conspiracy.
Another time I saw my thesis is when Katniss lost her sister at the end of the book. When the war was about done the capital put all of their children in the square and the rebels dropped a bomb on them. They expected the people of the capital to come and save their children but instead the rebels doctors came to help them. Katniss’s sister was a nurse in training but I guess they were short in people so they sent her out. The rebels then dropped another bomb on their own people. Katniss was not in the blast zone but she watched her sister die in the front of her own eyes.
I also saw my thesis when Katniss lost her best friend Gale after the war. Gale was her best friend from the start. They hunted together and played together. But once the war started Katniss became obsessed with beating capital so she became very distant with gale. Gale was also incharge of the bombs that blew up her sister so that didn’t help either. But once Katniss shot President Coin instead of President Snow Gale just left and never came back. He got a big city job and left Katniss forever.
Just a reminder my thesis is there’s a price to war. My opinion on the book is that the book itself was very interesting and it had a lot of action. But also their was a lot of lessons to be learned and their was alot themes to be thought about. Overall I think this was a great book and it had a lot of great lessons and great themes.
The carbon can start in the clouds. It can come down into the trees/ plants with a process called photosynthesis. The plants can respirate the carbon back into the air or they create organic carbon in the roots. The organic carbon can transfer back to the plants if you grow them in it. Then the plants will get eaten by animals or humans or the animals eat the plants and the humans eat the plants. The humans/ animals create waste or die creating organic carbon. The organic carbon is mined and burned in factories making the carbon go back into the air. It can also rain and the carbon in the rain goes into the ocean and it can sink into the ground or we drink it then the humans can respirate or they create waste. 
I saw God in the changing of the trees. It made me think of God because how he made everything in his image and how everything is so connected.

Matthew 7:24-25
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
Picking the theme at camp was a great experience for me. Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world.
I can use this verse for good at school. This verse tells me that if I live my life for God and do what he says that he will help me through everything. That does not mean that my life is struggle free but I know that God will always be by my side. God will help you with everything if it is for the right reason. If you are struggling to stay focused studying he will help you. If you are being a bully he will not help you because that is not helping anybody else have a firm foundation that is actually just tarring yours down. This verse also reminds me that I also can lift other people up and have them have a firm foundation. If a classmate is having a bad day I lift them up or anybody for that matter. If their is a little kid that is having a trouble with something you go over there and help them and make them smile.
This verse tells me that I can go out to world with God by my side if I follow him and truly believe that he will stand by me. This means once I get out of 8th grade and go into high school and go into college and start a life that God will be by my side through all of it. He will help me through my struggles. This does not mean that I can lose faith in him because than I am not truly believing that God will stay by my side. I would be like the other guy who built his house on the sand. I hope I will stay true to God and know he will help me through everything.
“Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world. Overall this verse is one of the best verses that ZCS has picked and will be for a long time.

Descriptive writing
The globe card reminds me of when I traveled to Costa Rica with the school.
I got off the airplane and walked into a wall of humidity. It was like I was in a volcano. Once we were out of the airport we got to meet 2 of my favorite people from the trip. Their names are Caputo and Ingrid. We got in the steaming hot bus and headed for the hotel. When we got to the hotel it was amazing how nice they were and the view from the hotel was the best because their was a huge mountain in the distance. The mountain was covered in clouds when we got their.
The bird card reminds me of when I was in Costa Rica and I got to see a Scarlet Macaw. As I walked up the stairs, I suddenly heard this screeching noise that sounded like a dying duck. So I started running up the stairs to find out what was making this sound. At first I didn’t see it but then I see this majestic bird that was so colorful that I thought it was a rainbow. I felt so enthused to see such a majestic sight. As I got closer I saw something else flying and I figured it was the same type of bird. Ingrid walked out of the front door and handed me a pair of binoculars. She said ,“Look towards that tree and look for a nest.” So I quickly looked for a big nest and I saw it and it was huge. Ingrid told me it wasn’t fully done yet. So I just stood their in tell their were gone then I had a story to tell at the breakfast that morning.
The latter card reminded me of my fear of heights and how I conquered them at Cedar Point when I rode the dragster. I got to the front of the line for the dragster and by this time my nerves are tingling and I am sweating like a NFl football player after a game. Ok, it’s my turn you can do this I told myself. I get into the seat and pull the harness to me so hard I can’t even breath. By this time I am already having second thoughts about my choices and wishing I was as strong as a horse a break my harness and run. My turn here we go I thought to myself. I count to me self 3 2 1 go and we are off at an amazing speed of 120 miles per hour. When I try to open my eyes they shut as soon as I open them because how scared I am. All of sudden I feel my stomach drop and my heart beating in my stomach. When we got to the top I thought to myself It is halfway done your good then I opened my eyes and looked at the sheer drop and my heart started beating faster than a jackrabbit. By the time I was done thinking I was dropping faster than lighting. Once we got to the end I thought that wasn’t so bad so I asked to do it again. All of this worry for 17 seconds I thought, that’s silly. That was the best 17 seconds of my life.
I did a lot of things this summer but here are a couple of important thing I did. I played baseball this summer. I went to cedar point this summer. I rode the dragster a lot and I almost rode every ride. I went up north a couple days and I got to go fishing. I also go to go kayaking. I went camping with a couple friends at a very nice camp ground. We got to go fishing. We also got to bike around a lot. Overall it was a great summer and I wish it never had to end.
I think the new addition is cool because it is modern. I like the air conditioning. I like the white board tables and the glass doors.
African union day is basically a day where we debut about a problem that is actually happening in the world. It is very formal and it is a lot like how the AU actually works. We were a country with another person and we got to argue over what we believed and made treaty an combined with other countries to get our thing chosen. I learned that it is hard to agree with peoples ideas. It is hard because you get so caught up in your country that you don’t care about other ideas. My favorite thing about AU is the debating. I think it could of ben a little bit longer.
At the start of the movie the kid that turned down the jersey was not a big fan of the Spring Boks. But then as the movie goes he starts to like the Spring Boks. When they came to his village to show them how to play rugby. When the world cup of rugby came along the kid went by the police officer car to listen. By the end of the movie they were hugging because there team won. This is a good example of apartheid and how it started to end.
It was a good example of after apartheid because before the kid hated everything about the whites even there teams but at the end of the movie the kid started to like the teams and like the whites. This wasn’t true for every one but it was true for some people.
It was impacted by my judgment yesterday. How I think that if there black they are from Africa or Mexico. So I widened my preferences on it.
