my name is cade, I lived in Louisville, Kentucky. I worked in a tobacco field and if you didn’t work hard enough you would get wiped and there were hardly enough beds to sleep in.

we were tired of working it was really rough we crossed on boat on the Ohio river and we almost got caught we used a compass to find our way and if the compass was pointing to the north we knew we were on the right trail.

There was this white guy that hid us in his wagon and dropped us off by the Ohio river and there was a man who helped us over the Ohio river and we were in cincinnati and we traveled to Detroit and up in to Canada.
