God at Work

In Bible class we have been learning about Paul’s ministry. This paragraph is going to tell you some events in Paul’s past that helped him evangelize in the future. One of those things was he was trained to be a Pharisee. That helped him later in his  life because that meant he had lot’s of knowledge of scripture and the Torah. Paul also had Roman and Jewish citizenship. Another one was that he had Roman and Jewish citizenship. It helped him once when some Roman soldiers were going to beat him and he told them that he had Roman citizenship. If you had Roman  citizenship in that time you were very privileged. You had the right to a fair trial and you could not be beaten/killed unless you committed treason. Paul was also a tentmaker by trade. That helped him because he was always on the move from city to city and if need be he could camp out.  The last thing I am going to talk about in this paragraph is how Paul knew many languages and was very smart. That helped him in his evangelistic career because he could preach the Gospel to more people.

I believe God can also work in and through me too further his kingdom. One of the talents he has given me the privilege to learn is the language of Spanish. I believe that being able to speak multiple languages can really help you in life whether it be in the workplace or evangelizing to other people. Right now God is forming me to be His servant in the future.

While the World Watched Reflection

Q:What are three things you learned about the history of the USA that you did not know before? Explain.

A:I learned the south was segregated a lot more than I thought it was especially Birmingham.

A:I also learned that black people were really sad when JFK the president died.

A:I also learned of the horrible things that white people did to black people back then and they thought it was ok.

Q:What would Jesus have done if he was in Birmingham during this time? Explain using specific examples.

A:I think for example if Jesus was in Birmingham when the bombing in the church took place he would’ve reached out to people and spent time grieving with people. He would’ve tried to teach the KKK about God just like he tried to teach the pharisees about God and try to change their hearts.

  1. Why do you think we read this book in Bible class and do you think we should do that again next year? Explain.

I think we read this book to open our blind eyes to see what really happened back then. I think the 6th graders should read the book next year because it is a good book.

  1. Finish this sentence. I used to think ______thinks that bad didnt happen____________ but now I think  ____that they do_________________________.
