Mandarin High Frequency Words to Produce and to recognize:

Students will learn a new set of words this week. I will send out homework sheets on Monday. There will be a test on Friday for words to produce and to recognize.

Science:

Students are going to continue the toy bus experiment which requires them to change one variable to explore the forces of gravity, push, pull or friction.

We will play with some marble toys, look at some marble runs, and begin to design and construct our own marble runs.

3rd Grade STAMP test

This week, 3rd graders will begin Mandarin proficiency testing through Avant Stamp 4SE.

STAMP 4Se is a web-based test that checks to see how well your kids are learning a second language. The Avant STAMP (STAndards-based Measurement of Proficiency) assesses Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, with scores provided from Novice through Advanced. The assessment is computer-adaptive and based on the internationally recognized ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. You can find detailed information on this website. https://avantassessment.com/stamp4se/frequently-asked-questions

This test is made up of four parts (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking). Each week, we spend some time practicing one of the four areas and have that area tested on Thursday.  On this coming Thursday, 3rd graders will take the listening test.
