E.T.'S THOUGHTS!!!

Water Erosion

My partner Sophie and I we assigned this assignment about water erosion. We have made models of two identical valleys. The first shows a relatively new river, that is flowing through a green valley. The river is very small and shallow. In the second model it shows the same river but a long time later. The river has eroded the banks so the river a quite a bit wider, and the water has also made the river deeper. In our presentations we had to show a before and after on how it changed. The model on the right shows the erosion before it happened. And the model on the left shows it after an erosion.  In the model on the left it shows it forming a delta. Also after that erosion there was a beach formed. There is a horse shoe shaped lake in the left model and that is called an oxbow lake. An oxbow lake is a meander cut off from a river by deposition of sediment

Science Project

For our science project we are learning about Sedimentary rocks made out of crayons. We spent a week on making sediment (which is crayons shaved into little pieces). After we destroyed all the crayons we got into groups put a lot of the crushed and shaved pieces of crayon on tin foil and out it in between 2 marker boards and stepped on it for 5 min and then found a space at my school that was really heavy  and put the piece of tin foil with the crushed and shaved crayons under the thing that was really heavy for 1,000 and 1,000 of minutes. After a few weeks we finally get to put the shaved crayon rock into a heated oven to melt it and make it into a smaller rock.this is what it looks like after we took it out of the tin foil.

Descriptive Paragraph

Our assignment was to print a word picture in our readers minds. How did I do?

One my favorite places to go is where there is a lot water flying around from big floppy tails to water on my clothes. But when I peered over the edge of the tank I saw water coming out of the top of their heads, but thats when it hit me they were dolphins. I was so interested in the dolphins that I begged my mom to buy me a stuffed animal of a dolphin that I still have today. My mom asked me if I wanted get my picture with a dolphin and I said “yes” so I stood by the see through wall and she took a picture. We got to watch the dolphins for a few more minutes than we had to go home. Five minutes after my mom told me that we had to go home, I knew that we could come back soon.
