The first project in science was DIY boat races. We had a list of materials we could you, but you could take what you wanted. To make are boat we took a 6 by 6 piece of styrofoam and wrapped it with aluminum foil. After that we took straws and stuck that in to the styrofoam and but pipe cleaners in the straw and the wrapped the wrapping paper around the pipe cleaners. It worked great and I think the sail was good. We also had some problems and we had to figure out how to not make the straws bend.
