God at Work

In bible class we have been studying Paul’s ministry. Some things in his past that helped Paul was that he was a pharisee so he had knowledge of scripture and the torah. He also had Romana and Jewish citizenship witched helped because at the time rome was the ruler of the nation and people feared the romans. He also knew many languages so he could talk with people of other nations. He was a tentmaker so wherever he went he could have a place to stay.

One thing that god gave me was the gift of being good with little kids this can help because I can be able to be with kids and show them god through me. This will already be put in use because I am going on a mission trip to Lesotho africa to help at a orphanage called beautiful gate.

Volcano Project

in science we had to make a model volcano. we started out by reasserting and making a poster involving the different types of volcanos. witch are composite, cinder cone, and shield. then with that information we had to make a model based off of a real one in the world. me and my group decided to make ours off of Mauna Loa in Hawaii. Mauna loa is a shield volcano and that is over a hot spot.

Persecution Project

In bible we had to do a PBL (Project Based Learning) project on persecution. We were all put in groups and were assigned a country to do research on the persecution there and make a project to educate people about it. Me and my group were assigned Tanzania and we found a lot of interesting stuff on it. one thing was that it had a mostly christian population with around 61% being christians and around 35% being muslim and the uther are different religions. But on the island of Zanzibar there is a 90% Muslim religion and that is were the most persecution is. Although there is persecution in Tanzania there isn’t even enough to get it on the world watch list in the last 10 years. One thing we had to do was make a visual aid for our project and many of the stories we found were about people burning down the christians churches so we made a model church out of cardboard and made it look like it was on fire and that we were inside it. I would show a picture but I dont have one.

Spaghetti Tower Project

this is the tower that me and my group made for this project. it dint start out ass good but eventually we scraped the first design and made this one that was better. the best thing i think we did is having the pyramid in the center that supports the higher pyramid. Although I don’t know if it will be the best of all of the other ones.

Math Project

For this project we needed to think of a real world problem that is salved using the pythagorean theorem. Our project is asking how far of a shot it would be from a tree stand that is 5 yards up a tree to a food plot that is 15 yards away from the base of the tree. our answer was about 15.8

Theme Writing

This is love: Not that we loved God but that God loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends since God so loved us we ought to love one another.

I think that me and my friends picked an amazing theme for our school this year. Our theme for this year is Lost In Love  We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world.

I can show this theme many ways at school. One way is by helping out other kids if they are stuck on homework or need help with anything at all. Another way I can show it is is in small groups teaching the sixth and seventh graders about our theme, our chapels, and about God. And I also know that the little kids in younger grades love it when eighth graders say hi to them I remember that it did for me when I was younger. Another way I can show this theme at school is by helping out with events and other stuff to, whether that is helping with a sporting event or cleaning up the comins.

As Christians, we can also show this theme to the world. We can do this by helping people that need it like in a store reaching something that someone else can’t. Also by respecting other people’s property by making sure it looks nice after you use it. And you can also just be respectful like if you are in a restaurant not being obnoxious.

Boat Race

On the first trial with our boat we got 18.9 seconds.

One thing we are changing is the sail because it isn’t strong enough.

I am hoping that we can get our time under 10 seconds.

My 2017 Summer

This summer I did a lot of fun stuff. First me and my family went camping at the beach and had a lot of fun swimming and biking. Then I went to Big Star lack where I celebrated my 14th birthday with my family. While I was at Big Star lack I had a lot of fun tubing with my cousins. Then I went to my cottage at Lost lack. While I was at my cottage went fishing and caught about 20 bluegill. Also as I was up there I was able to go wake surfing and tubing. I also went river tubing down the Muskegon River. In the last few weeks of summer I got to go golfing with my great grandpa. And I was able to finish the entire Harry Potter series. So that is what I did this summer.

One thing that I learned is that some people in Africa have aces to a cell phone but no a sewage system so the cant have a real toilet. Another thing that stuck me is how many people have african heritage but are American or British or Indian. Another thing is that there are a bought 500 different language spoken in nigeria. A bought half the people in south Saharan Africa are illiterate.

Eagle Huntress

  1. Respond to the film: I really like this film because it shows what other people like to do for fun and to survive in a different place. it is also another indicator that girls can do anything boys can do just as well and many even better.  This also shows a cool form of hunting that I bet dos people didn’t know existed. it also shows what the geography of that places is by showing the mountains. it also shows how they have to travel because since they lived so far from the school the kids had to sleep there during the week.
  2. Respond to the article: I don’t agree with the article i think that this is a true and onsite documentary that was not staged. i do understand why some of the elders don’t like that she is doing it because that was the tradition that the boys are the one to do it.

Birmingham Movie Reflection

one thing that stood out to me was that even after the out lawed slavery black people were still treated like they were trash. One thing that stuck with me was that all the kids were exited they were going to jail and that some kids were let go and they got them selfs arrested again the next day. The way that i made me feel is kind of inspired because the kids were so focused on getting what they wanted they were willing to go to jail.
