8th Grade Theme Essay

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another”

1 John 4: 10-11

During 8th Grade camp, it was super cool that we could talk about our theme verse around the campfire and talk about what it means to us as a class. We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world.

I can show this theme many ways at school. One way is by playing with someone who doesn’t have anyone to play with at recess, I could ask him he wanted to play basketball. Another thing is respecting our classmates and teacher’s opinions, even if we don’t agree with it, like in Social Studies when Queen (Mrs.) Roskamp says something and we don’t agree with, we can just keep our opinions to ourselves.  And the last thing is making sure we listening to one another when they are speaking, because there is a lot of that because people only care about themselves.

As Christians, we can also show this theme to the world. One way is helping other countries in relief effort if they are either in a state of dictatorship and are not getting enough resources or are affected by war. Another way is helping a state who has been effected by a natural disaster, like with donating money to help with both Hurricane Harvey and Irma. And the last thing is helping someone who is in spiritual needing, if they have been going through a hard time or just need God.

We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world. This we can do by doing multiple things at multiple places.
