This is an amazing book about adventure and hardship. The Central African Republic is a very dangerous place to live.

The book is about a girl named Sophie and she has a bonobo monkey as a pet. She tries to escape a army and then runs away when she was supposed get on a plane and and go to America she gets off and runs for her life. At the end of the book there is a little twist.  She gets captured by a crazy boy and she escapes from him while he’s asleep. She almost dies from hunger and then finds a little village. She gets food and water from the village and then goes to bed for a day.

My favorite part was when Sophie found her little bonobo monkey and nursed it back to health. Then never wants to leave his side and does anything to protect him.

If you like animals and adventures you will love this book because its about a girl and a bonobo monkey running for the life
