the holy spirit

December 9, 2014

The Holy Spirit is God but he is also a person that works inside of you if you believe in him. The Holy Spirit works in me by helping me to forgive others. The Holy Spirit also helps me to believe in God.

Africa entry event

It was surprising to me that not many people have fresh water. We get fresh water all the time and they don’t. Why is that? Maybe it is too expensive or they don’t have the materials necessary to do so.  Some people have to walk to walk a long way to get water.

Some people did not have phones or internet.  How do they communicate with people outside their village/neighborhood?

We cannot judge them by money or how wealthy they are.  Not all of Africa is poor, South Africa is quite wealthy.

The life expectancy in Africa is lower on average than the US.

This taught me that we live so easily and safe in the US and they have harder and more dangerous lives often times. It also taught me that not all of Africa is black, but it is not!

I would like to know more about if they see wild animals, like lions, in real life, not in a zoo.  Is that dangerous?

Another thing I want to learn about is how many deserts they have and how hot it gets.  I want to know more about the climate.

Tim’s Chapel

Tim was only supposed to live one day and now he is 18 years old! God is the reason why he has lived so long and Tim gives all the credit to Him.  He challenged us to use our talents for the glory of God. This is what Tim always did.

Immigration Day

One of the groups I sat in was Mrs. Hildebrand’s group. She taught us about the food she ate in China. She showed us pictures of the food. She also told us about one of the religions in China, Buddahism. She explained how bad it was.She also told us that at Christmas time the buildings get covered with pictures to celebrate Christmas. And the taxis are silver and red. They take you farther than the silver and green ones.

I also learned some things from Ms. Sulyman. She moved all around her country to get a better education. She visited other countries before coming to the United States. She likes living here in America. Many people thought she was Chinese but she was from Indonesia.

Reflection on Roman10: 9-14

October 23, 2013  Tagged

I believe that Jesus is my Savior. I believe that God raised Him from the dead so I will be saved. This makes me happy to know that I will live forever with God. I like it that God is God for all people, including me. I need to let other people know this.

Design Project

March 13, 2013

We went to this place where we got to see cars and stuff and they showed us how to actually design a car and new cars.  That was part of the first day.  We went to see these two people from Zeeland–they talked about our design project that was going to be a park.  They explained what our job was.  Then we got to see the park and see how small it was, the size of it.  Then we came back to school with Mr. Buteyn and put sticky notes up with words that would describe what the park would be.  Now we have been planning this park and thinking of ideas, like water fountains and hills (like Zeeland Christian’s hill), making it all year round, how to make it fit to special needs, having green space, and making it for all ages.  This design project has been really fun and you get to use your imagination.  So far we have been drawing these sketches for the park now.  I think the park idea in our planning will work.

One idea I remember is when a boy in our class showed a picture of a tunnel of water coming out.  That one was a good one because it was exciting with water sprinkling, which is more fun than a boring park.  He put green space in it for a quiet place where people don’t want to be loud.  We’ve been working in groups, designing what the park will look like on the outside, inside and middle.  I like working in my group.  If we have the same idea we put it down.  We’ve been having good ideas in our group.  I’m looking forward to a lot of people coming to enjoy the park.
