Garden Crossings Flowers: Your Mother’s Day flowers are ready to be picked up! Saturday, May 13 is the last day to pick them up. I hear they are beautiful. 🙂

Academics

Bible/Bible Memory: We are continuing to talk about the life and ministry of Peter. We learned about Peter healing a sick man and also about his escape from prison. Your children are interested in Peter, and enjoy learning about him.

I will introduce our last memory verse this week.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Phonics: We are beginning to learn about blends during phonics. Our first blend was the “sh” blend. We learned that “sh” says “shhhhh”. We then sorted pictures with beginning sounds s, h, and sh.

Word Wall/Poetry: brown and black

Handwriting: q, x, z

Writing Workshop: We wrote another letter to our penpals this week. We also continued with our how-to books.

Math: We continued working with our “bugs” and our partners of 10. We did a small art project with ladybugs practicing some addition facts.

Exploring God’s World: We enjoyed exploring worms this week! There are more photos here!
