The redcoats (british) were on post and 100 or more colonists started surrounding the custom house and they were swearing and threatening the redcoats. while that was happening the soldiers were trying to get the away from the custom house because they thought that the colonists were planing on destroying the custom house and then the colonists started throwing snowballs and they started hitting the soldiers with clubs and some people say the they even had swords and knives and then all the soldiers started firing and then after the mob vanished the captain asked the soldiers why they fired so it was all a misunderstanding
