I am Chloe, I’ve been raised has a slave. My life as a slave was sad. I lived in a house that was not the greatest with a family. Some of the hardest things about my life is when I could not see my real family any more and that I had to become a slave. When I was a slave I had hard jobs. The first job I took was to take breakfast to those who were on the field. Then when you grow up you’d work on the field. Then one day it was time to escape. I escaped because I was tired, I had to work a lot. But the one thing I had to do was to walk and walk cause there was no other transportation I could take. I knew what way I was going because wherever the moss grows on the tree is the way where I had to go. When I would pass the woods I would go and look for some food to eat. The other way I got food was from the people that came along to help me. I felt little scared traveling at night. I came acrossed some abolitionists. They helped me by: Serving me meals, Hidden me in barns and they told me important things that I should do when I am escaping. The abolitionists helped me on my BIG Journey to Canada.
