Appreciation

Something I will always remember is… Learning how to design it was a lot harder of a process than I thought it would be, At first all I thought it would be is just making a 3D model of what I wanted it to look like but its a lot harder!

Growing through the What If? innovation project

I would say I grew most in teamwork, we did EVERYTHING in groups, sometimes whole studeos, other times with 3 or 4 people, mostly we did groups of 5. The reason why I think I grew most in teamwork is because we got along, yes, there were arguments, we work out the problems we had and had a great time doing this! At first my group and I argued over almost everything, but after we worked it out we did AMAZING!

What If?

Our 6th grade is designing something for The City that I live in, so…here is our busy schedule from the past week.

Day 1: We got into our design studio groups and we went to the bus wich brought us to JCI and they explained to us a typical day in the design world and gave us a little tour, then we went to the City’s public library and our clients told us that we are going to make a family friendly environment for the City, then we walked down a got to see the place that we are designing this park to be, it is a 11 space parking lot and a little square called Heritage Square. Then we went on the bus and headed back to school, and that was our morning. For the afternoon part of day 1 we got into our design studio groups and we read the project brief out loud and then silently, while we read it silently we highlighted the important parts of the project brief after we got done with that we wrote the main ideas, the ones that we highlighted   on sticky notes and we read them out loud and posted them on a board (there is a picture of me doing that) and then we clustered them into infinity groups.

Day 2: We went to our design studio groups again…this time we stayed in the school =), but we had a busy day still. First of all we finished putting the sticky notes into infinity groups and gave them all names, and then we got into smaller groups and each group chose one of the topics, my group did Inclusive, and we researched that group and made a google presentation of the ideas we got, thats called secondary research.

Day 3: We started off by finishing our secondary research and then we printed the google presentation off and presented the google presentations and we wrote on some sticky notes the ideas we got from the other peoples presentations and stuck them on the slide we got the idea from.

Day 4:
