   CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION

There are about 2.2 billion Christians in the world, and every month 7,500 Christians die, we need to help those who are being killed and persecuted for their faith. People in north korea can be killed without a trial just for holding a Bible, people in the middle east can be executed for singing praises, yet here we are doing nothing when people are being killed. Even though they live in fear for their lives, they still spread the word even more than we do. We need to help them, pray for them and encourage them so that they can be safe and keep working on their ministry all around the world. Christians are being persecuted every day, we need to help them.

Many people around the world persecute Christians. I wouldn’t say that they like killing and torturing Christians, but many do. Not to call out the Muslims, or say they all do this, but many Muslim groups kill christians because of their own beliefs. Some groups like ISIS, and even the governments like Syria, Afghanistan and other middle eastern countries, and some asian countries, it is illegal to be an unregistered Christian. Which means being killed or tortured or imprisoned because of their own faith. Also Emperor Nero is a good example of a specific person because he killed and ordered some deaths. Paul was a persecuted but returned to God also as an example.

Christians are being persecuted in many ways. Some ways are that they are being killed, obviously, but the are also being imprisoned, where they live with minimal food and water and are put through hardships. Also some other ways are they are being tortured and almost forced to not be a Christian, which can be hard because God called us to not deny our faith, when we are being tortured we want the pain to go aways, yet we are loyal to God so that can be another way. Some are tortured by watching their family die, some are tortured by being whipped and burned.

Christians are being killed because some groups believe that they should kill people to get to their “Heaven”. But also some do it just for the joy of killing people, it’s like hunting animals just they are people. Many people believe, or someone made them believe, that Christians are bad people, like Emperor Nero told his people that Christians were cannibals. He also made the Romans think that the Christians started a big huge fire that killed people and burned property. People just have a grudge against some groups, like the story “She said Yes” is a good story that shows that some people just don’t like Christians. We may never be able to figure out why some people do these kinds of things, but they happen.

As an example, Eritrea is a place where lots of persecution happens. Today people are being thrown into shipping containers and being isolated away from their own families. Many people are experiencing this right now. The government in Eritrea really wants to keep the Christians more isolated, so they need to be registered by the government so they can keep an eye and figure out the numbers. I feel like if these numbers get too high, they will start persecuting even more. People are being tortured and killed because they are unregistered and converting too many people to Christianity.

It’s not that everyone is just sitting in their chairs reading about these things. People are actually helping. There are many websites that talk about how we, personally, can help. We can donate money, which is a quick and simple way to help, yet meaningful and very useful. Some other ways that are more personal is like praying for the people and telling them that you are praying for them. Also you can go to those countries and learn more about their culture to better understand them and what their everyday life so you can personally bond and interact with the specific people. These are just some ways but people every day are also getting out of their comfort zone and going to these countries and teaching new pastors to help the community grow in Christ and their knowing of what he does every day in their own lives.

I think that we really need to help these people and get out of our comfort zones and out of our perfect little lives and go do a difference in this world. Christians are being persecuted every day, we need to help them, and I personally want to pray and encourage these people to keep spreading the word and helping people out in their everyday lives as a Christian in a extremely persecuted country.
