How Was Your Trip?

My trip was hard. It felt very long (40 days) and people were getting ill and dying very quickly because of all of the sickness that was going around. Sometimes the storms were awful and you would have to stay inside. When you first got on the ship if you were a girl or a lady then they would brush your hair very carefully and if you were a boy or a man then they would cut your hair very short all to prevent from the spread of lice. When it came to luggage you would have a certain amount of luggage you could bring because of the room in the ship. The more money that you paid then the more stuff that you could bring. Before we got on the ship, the nurses and the people that worked at the hospital brushed my hair to prevent lice, then we waited until other families got on and soon we were on our way! My family left because they thought that we would have a better life and they also thought that there would be better job opportunities in America also. I was only 4 years old when I left and I was a little scared to leave my home but now, I’m glad that I left and after a couple weeks after I got off the ship I got used to America.
