Picture Book Reflection0

In language Arts, all the kids in 7th grade each made a picture book. There was a  long process that we had to do in order to make our books look and sound good. First we did some research and brainstorming, then we made a rough draft, next we had an adult edit our book. After the editing was done, we all made final drafts and drew all of the pictures on the pages. Finally, we shared our books with some second graders and had them tell us what they thought about it. I kind of liked making the picture book, I liked the writing and I also liked the drawing at first. But, after a while of drawing and coloring page after page, I got really sick and bored of it. If I could go back and do it again, I think that the main thing that I would change would be my characters. I should have made them some sort of animal or something else easier to draw. I made my characters humans, and they were super hard to draw. Another thing that I would change would be taking more time on my pictures. I am sort of embarrassed by some of my pictures. I was so sick of drawing them that I just wanted to scribal all over the pages. And that is sort of what I did.  In the end, my picture book turned out alright. I learned a lot of things from this experience. I learned that I kind of like writing a children’s book, but I like writing for people my age much better. I also learned that that I am not very patient when it comes to drawing pictures. Over all, I had a great experience making my own picture book.
