Jessica Heeringa, 25 years old, was taken/kidnapped on April 26. Yesterday, police found some of her blood, but not a lot of it. The story: She was working at a Exxon station, in Norton Shores Michigan, alone, and she was about to close at 11:30. Police predict that she was taken around 11:15. None of her personal belongings were disturbed, and none of the cash from the register was taken. However, people have some predictions on how it happened. Jessica’s mom says that he probably lured her out of the station by asking for help, because Jessica would help anyone. Another prediction is that Jessica knew who it was and felt comfortable enough with him. Police have a sketch of what the abductor might look like.

I think that she shouldn’t have been working alone at the Exxon station that late to prevent things like this from happening. Also, they should have surveillance cameras in the station.

The Article where I got the story from:

CNN.com—- http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/09/justice/michigan-woman-abducted/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

(CNN) — Blood found on the scene of a Michigan kidnapping belonged to the victim, police said Thursday.

Jessica Heeringa, 25, was abducted late last month from an Exxon station in Norton Shores, where she was working alone, sometime around 11 p.m., police have said.

Investigators found “suspicious substances” at the station and turned them in to the state’s crime lab, which identified some of it as blood. A DNA analysis matched it to Heeringa, the Norton Shores Police Department said.

The amount of blood found was small, police said. Authorities notified the family of the findings.

Suspect’s face

Police have put a face with the description of a man suspected of kidnapping the gas station cashier.

He is a white male, about 6 feet tall, between 30 and 40 years old, with wavy hair parted in the middle. On Tuesday evening, police released a sketch of the suspect.

Police also are looking for a silver minivan — possibly a Chrysler Town and Country — that was seen at the gas station.

“We have one witness who placed that vehicle there and saw the driver. That’s what we based that description on so far,” Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw told CNN affiliate WOOD-TV.

Video from a nearby business showed the suspected minivan in the area around the time Heeringa went missing.

The video is blurry, the van is only seen for a few seconds, and neither a driver nor license plate can be seen.

“I wish I had the technology like you see on TV where you could blow it up and I could see the driver inside. But that doesn’t exist for me,” Shaw told WOOD. But it is something.

“It does give us some hope that we’ve got some accurate information out there to work with,” he told the station.

How she disappeared

Heeringa was scheduled to close the Exxon station where she was working alone at 11:30 p.m. on April 26. But at 11:15, police got a 911 call that the station was unmanned.

Jessica Heeringa, 25, was abducted Friday from an Exxon station in Norton Shores, Michigan, police say.
Jessica Heeringa, 25, was abducted Friday from an Exxon station in Norton Shores, Michigan, police say.

“It’s very suspicious why there’s nobody here,” the 911 caller says in a tape.

The way the station was left, police say, led them to believe somebody abducted Heeringa.

“Her purse and other belongings were undisturbed. In addition, the store’s cash drawer was found out, and no money was missing,” police said in a statement.

Heeringa is described as 5 feet 1 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, with blond hair, blue eyes and wearing wire-rimmed glasses.

Heeringa’s mother, Shelly Heeringa, has said that she suspects someone familiar with the gas station and possibly known to Jessica took her daughter.

“I think whoever did this had been in the gas station before and maybe Jessie knew him,” Shelly Heeringa said.

“He probably lured her out by saying he needed help,” she said. “Jessie would have helped anybody. And that was probably her downfall.”

Lack of surveillance images

The station did not have security cameras, something that police said has hindered the investigation and that Shelly Heeringa said always troubled her.

“When I knew she was working there, when I knew (the store) had no security cameras, when she was going to be by herself, I expressed my concern about it all the time to her how worried I was,” the mother said.

But those concerns apparently didn’t trouble Jessica.

“She just thought she could handle everything,” Shelly Heeringa said.

The mother also thanked the community of 22,500 on the shores of Lake Michigan for its support in the search for her daughter.

“So many people have been trying to help us find Jessie. It’s just been wonderful,” she said.

People with information that may help find Jessica Heeringa are asked to call Norton Shores police at 231-733-2691.

On Wendsday, May 1, the whole 8th grade had to find someone to job shadow. I job shadowed Mary Jo Staal, who goes to my church. She works at Hudsonville Christian and teaches 8th grade. For this job, you have to be patient, energetic, positive, firm, and fun. I had a lot of fun here. I graded papers most of the day, and wrote on the board for her. I dont think that I would be able to do this job because it takes a lot of education to prepare and it takes lots of qualites that I dont think I have.

Thanks MJ for letting me shadow you!

If I could have anything that I wanted, I would have a vacation home in all the warm places and travel all around the country to them. Every home would have a pool, with a beautiful backyard, several bedrooms, and a huge kitchen. I would have plenty of time do do this, and have a job that I enjoy. If this was true, I think that I would become really lazy, and all my houses would get robbed, because I am not always in them. I think my family would want to have the houses and want to stay in them all the time. I think that I would lose money also.

In History, we had a senate session with our class/country. What I enjoyed, was seeing all of the work that people put into thier jobs. What frustrated me was when people would amend the motions so much just to be have something uniqe. There was a amend on almost every motion! It wasted time, and most of the time in the end of the voting, we ended up with the original idea anyway. What surprised me was how non serious people took the session. They would change things like wanting sparkles, random colors, and animals on our flag.

What I learned about myself is that when something isn’t going right i want to jump in and change what is happening. Sometimes that is a good thing and sometimes that isn’t always very good. I also learned that my class is very independent in different ideas. It seemed like all of us had a different idea about one thing. We always had a hard time agreeing on something. What i learned about our class government is that we need to have more compromises. That way, we can all agree. This also is what i learned about the way the world works. Our country’s government has to agree seriously. They have to have a formal session.

One of my favorite things about the Senate Session is learning how sessions like this work in the real world. It is really interesting. If we have another session, I would make some people be more serious about what is happening so they don’t vote on random ideas to make our country look like a joke.

In Science class, we made a wave erosion project. One of the containers holds the part of the before the erosion happens and one shows what the landform looked like after the erosion happens. The after one has seven vocabulary words.

In History, we have studied several different countries government and how they are different from each other. In Chile, the government type is republic. The executive branch is run by President Sebastian Echenique, the legislative branch is based on the bicameral national Congress, and the Judical Branch is run by the Supreme Court. They have only 2 political parties. Chile’s government is way different than Haiti’s government. Haiti has a repulic goverment. Their exective branch is run by President Michael Martley, and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe. The Legislature branch is based on bicameral National Assembly, and the Judicial branch is run by the Supreme Court. The one major thing that is interesting about Haiti is that they have around 35 political parties. That means that since lots of people think that they can help with Haiti and the destruction that has happened years ago.

“5 Armed Robberies in 3 days”

There are plenty of police investigating 5 different armed robberies that happened near the campus of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI. These 5 robberies have happened through out 3 days. They all happened very similar but police are quite sure that the robber isn’t the same person each time. The first robbery happend at the Next Door Food Store on February 16. A man come in pointing a firearm at the clerks telling them to give him some money. Once he had what he came for, he fled from the store. The clerks have been telling police some descriptions of him. Later in this same day, there was another robbery at Advance America Cash Advance. This robber stole money the same way. Then the next day, February 17, there was a another robbery at the same Next Door Food Store as the day before. And at night this same day, a local Subway restaurant was robbed also with a handgun. The clerks gave him a amount of money that remains classified. Police say that the robberies have no connection, but lots of locals say that there is defiantly a connection. The criminals have not been arrested or found yet.

I think that it is sorta suspicious how they hit one store twice. Once the robbery happened, that store should have closed for the next day or had more cameras. Also, I think that police are doing a great job of finding all the evidence and clues.

There are 10 different parts of this Composite Volcano. The vent at the summit, the cretor that surounds the vent at the summit,  the mantle with magma that is underground, our town called Quito, ash and gas that will come out when they explode, and lava flow that flows down the side when it eurupts.

Shoutout to Anglea and Nicole who I worked with.

Something that I could have done better was looked out at the audience while i was talking, and not so much at the paper. I think we did a good job of talking clearly and had a smooth moving presentation.
