Zeeland project

For school we were ask to design a park in downtown Zeeland, the park is right now an 11 space parking lot. For example my group and I went to Tiger Studio and had some professional designers help us find out ideas and help us to design the park. On the first day that we went to Tiger we talked about what the people at Tiger were  designing right now and what they had designed some time ago, and we talked to one of the people there that designs logos for companies to help us design a logo or something for the parks name. And after we were done at Tiger Studio we walked to the Howard Miller Library and we talk to people from City Hall, we talked about what stuff we might put in the park and what stuff people would like in the park. After we were done talking with the people we went to go look at the parking look to see how big it was. And the we went back to school and in our studios we found out infinities of ideas like should the park be year round, what is the cost, what water features should be in it, how would we make it handy cap accesible, should there be a green space, should it have old town look like dutch history, should it be for all ages? We made a thing that is the model and it had this water wall with the word Zeeland engraved in it and there was a little river coming from it and there was a bridge to connect the walk paths and there was 2 fireplaces so if one was full there would be the other one for other people to sit at too, and there was 2 wishing wells, and there was a auditorium that bands could perform on every once in a while. During the project I gathered some skills to help me with other projects in this year. One of the skills what I found was that working in a group is a lot easier than working by yourself. And another skill is that I should try and find good ideas that would help us in the project. In our Design studio my group gathered some skills too, like some of the people had to speak during the presentation in front of all kinds of people  and they did really good at it and the other groups presentations did really good too I liked them and I’m pretty sure a lot of the audience liked them too. The people that presented in it had to gather skills too like some of them gathered to speak clearly and not to speak too fast or too slow and to keep I contact with the audience most of the time but not all the time. In the presentation I didn’t speak in front of all the people but I had to greet people when they came in the place and i did it with some other people one from a different studio and one from my studio the people were Andrew from the other studio and Cameron from my studio all of us had to greet at the doors it was kind of fun but we gathered some skills from that too like, we had to give the people a firm hand shack and say different things to the people not the same thing every time.

Science

In science we are making sedimentary rocks from shavings from crayons. And after we were done shaving the crayons we had to put the shavings in some tin foil and then we had to put the shavings in the tin foil and put it under some pressure from something heavy and my group put it under a printer and after a few weeks we had to take it out and take the shavings out of the tin foil and this is what it looked like.
