This is a composite volcano that we made in class. It is going to have an explosive eruption made by combining mentos and diet coke.

I learned that Christian Persecution takes place all around the world today. I learned that people are tortured, threatened, and killed for what they believe in. I also learned that many of the Christians who are being persecuted forgive the people who hurt them and even though they are being persecuted That they don’t fight back. I also learned that the Christians who are being persecuted don’t turn their backs on God when they are going through hard times but grow closer to him though their persecution.

I can help by praying for those who are being persecuted, by writing letters o them to encourage them and give them support, I can help by donating money and bibles to them to help them grow in their faith and help them buy bibles and build their communities. Another why I can help is by spreading the word so more people know about Christian Persecution and how to help.

Alexander Hamilton was born on a Caribbean and was one of the driving forces of the Constitution. His father abandon his family when he was ten and his mother died four years later. He grew up in a society based on slavery but thought it was evil.  Hamilton was a genius and was sent to college by two people. He joined the continental army  and became one of Washington’s top aids. He moved to New York after the war. He founded the system of checks and balances and was the first secretary of treasury. Hamilton dueled eleven times. He died in 1804.

Aaron Burr was the first modern american politician. He moved to New York after the war and wanted to become rich and powerful. Burr loved a good time. He was genius at political strategy. He became a candidate for vice-president after two years of being in senate. He wanted equal rights for woman.  He lost his reputation after he finished last in the election and blamed Hamilton for it. he died in 1836.

The duel started because Burr blamed Hamilton for ruining his reputation. Burr than look for evidence so he could challenge Hamilton to a duel. He found this evidence in a newspaper that showed a letter written by Dr. Cooper. He than sent a letter to Hamilton, but Hamilton refused to apologize and sent Burr back a carefully crafted letter. So according to the code of honor they had to duel. Bothe Burr and Hamilton keep the duel a secret from their families but wrote letters to them incase they were killed. They cast lots to see who would shoot first. They then got in to position and Hamilton shot first. He missed but we don’t know if it was on purpose or not. Then Burr shot and hit Hamilton. H died thirty-six hours later with his family at his side. Burr was charge for murder and had to leave New York and his mansion.

I think that it is bad that people tried to resolve their issues by dueling each other with the possibility that someone with be shot. I think it is especially bad when it is over something so small like someone insulting someone else and refusing to apologize, but I find it weird that Burr was charged for murder even though it was done according to the code of honor.

If I get all A’s but do not have love, I am only a smart student If I have the gift of building and can create things big and small, and if I have millions of dollars, but do not have love, I am only a wealthy man with a greedy heart. If I give money to charity and food to the needy ,but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is helpful, love is good. It does not hate, it does not bully, it is not evil.  Love does not put down others , it is not mean , it is not hurtful, it keeps no record of sin. Love does not delight in sinning but rejoices with kindness.Love always helps, always listens, always cares, always is kind.

Love never leaves. But where there are predictions, they will cease; where there is gossiper, they will be stopped; where there is hurting, it will stop. For we know only a small part and predict only a small part, 10 but when completeness comes what is only a small will disappear.

11 When I was child I acted like a child , I talked like a child. When I became a man, I stopped being like a child 12 For now we run around blind ; then we shall run around eyes open. Now I know only a little; then I shall know completely, even as I am completely know.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

The case Greece vs. Galloway started in 1999 when the town of Greece started opening their meetings with prayer. Most of the prayers were christian but there was not an a specific denomination required to pray and any clergy could volunteer. Then in 2007 Galloway and Stephens complained that the prayers aligned the town with Christianity and that it violated the established clause of the first amendment.  They preceded to sue the town in 2008 for violating the establishment clause of the first amendment.

I am on the side of Greece because they didn’t make the prayers one denomination and any denomination could pray so it is not violating the establishment clause of the first amendment. The prayers also aren’t advancing or taking away from any religion and the establishment clause of the first amendment says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;” so it is not going against that.

I learned that over time a lake goes from being an O lake to M to E. The reason it changes is because over time sentiment forms and makes it shallower allow more plants to grow and it gets dirtier. And it goes from M to E as even more sentiment forms and it gets shallower and more plants grow and more fish and creatures go there.

Spring lake had dark colored water that you could barley see through. And it had a lot of blood worms and other things. There were also a lot more things that we saw in the microscope, and is a E lake. Lake Michigan had a nice blue  color and was easy to see far below us. It was also a lot deeper with less plants than Spring Lake. There was also almost no blood worms and we didn’t see too many things in the water through the mico-scope. Lake Michigan is a O lake.

My favorite educational part was the things we did out side and the micro-scope. I liked the things we did outside because they were active learning and fun things that we would be unable to experience in a classroom. I liked the micro-scope because I though it was cool to see all the different things in the water that we drink and swim in all the time but never know they are there.

What was the hardest part?

The hardest part for me was trying to get everyone to like it. It was hard not just trying to get what your country wanted and compromising to get more people to like it and get more ideas in.  It was also hard when people where asking questions on your resolution and you had to know what to say to try and get them to vote for yours.

What did you learn about other people, either in your classroom or internationally?

I learned that people all over the world have different views and prospectives and that you need to see the situation from the other persons prospective as well as your own so that you can help them see the benefit it would have to them and you. I also learned that people don’t always want to compromise because they think they have the best idea.

How does this challenge you to interact differently with other people?

It challenges me to not just say things from my prospective and what I think but to also look at how they might view this situation  and what they might think about it. It also challenges me to acknowledge others ideas and incorporate them into one idea that we can all accept even if we don’t fully agree.
