God at Work

In the Bible we have an apostle named Paul. Before Paul was Paul he was Saul. One thing that helped him was that he was a Roman citizen so they couldn’t persecute him. He also was very smart because he basically had a private touter. He also had tent making skills so he could make a tent anywhere. And he new the Torah forward and backwards.

God has been at work in me through donated time and money. When we did our PBL God said to me to donate money to the Persecuted people.

Volcano

This is our volcano. We made a skeleton out of a plastic water bottle and yarn. Then we paper mache around it.

This is our poster. We were assigned a volcano type. We had to draw a volcano and then write about it.

Sudan

My group had to study about Sudan’s persecution. had a tent that had an iMovie playing on a tv. We also had a poster that had facts about what you can do to help. Overall I think we did pretty good on facts and helpful ideas. We are also donating to the Voice of the Martyrs

Theme Writing

1 John 4:10-11

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

I always wonder how we would carry out or theme verse in 8th grade. We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world.

I can show this theme in many ways at school. I can bring the sweatshirts that are left outside to the owners. Because I always hated leaving my sweatshirt outside. Or I could say hi to the little kids because I remember when I was little and the older kids would say hi to me it would make my day. Or I could include other people who don’t have anybody sitting by them during lunch.  Because it’s more fun to eat with friends.

As Christians, we can also show this theme to the world. We can show this theme in the world by praising God with people that are not Christians so that they will have the chance to go to heaven. Or we could not get angry but love the people we don’t like. Or we could keep loving God with all of our hearts in the rough areas of the world. We shouldn’t be scared to praise God in scary parts of the world.

Beginning of Year reflections

I have enjoyed that we get 10 minutes to go outside for snack on Mondays, Wednesdays, And Fridays.

I have learned that we need to be a lot more mature than we were last year cause we are 8th graders now.

I am looking forward to going to Chicago for the band this year.

Boat Race

We Cut out a piece of styrofoam that had a angled front to it so it will glide better then we lined the bottom of the boat in tin foil. Then we put a cup on top of it the we put popsicle sticks on the edges and taped it down. The put a rubber band around it then put a paper sail on it.  We are going add another cup. I think it will do better.

Summer 2017

Over the summer I had a lot of fun. I went to Ludington for a week. While i was in there I went fishing and caught nothing. I also went tubing with my brothers and dad. We also went knee boarding. After Ludignton I went caping with Alex. We hung out and swam. We also played sting pong. We also went to a Bible study. Over all I had a fun summer.

Africa Intro. Activity

I learned that in central Africa the average life span of a male is 51 and for women it’s 54. But in North Africa the male’s life pan is 69 and the women’s is 71. And just in Nigeria they speak over 521 languages. And 30% of people only get paid $1 a day and that is a lot less than America.

FILMS

The film was about a scale solar system and there were like 2 miles in between the planets.  It was cool because to see how large the rotations where and to see how big the planets would be to the sun. The lesson is that if you saw pictures of the plants and the sun together they don’ t look that far away but they are actually super far away and it would take a while to go from planet to planet.

Eagle Huntress was about a girl who lived in Mongolia and her father was a eagle hunter and she wanted to learn how to be a eagle hunter. But all of the elders didn’t approve her to be a eagle hunter. It was cool because she entered into the eagle hunting festaval and that was her first time and she got 1st place!!  I think if she keeps on hunting she could win every festical.

Camp Reflection Day

We reflected on what we learned at camp and about what we shared and what happened. My verse that I did for who am I was Acts 1:8 It says that we will be the witnesses for God in Jerusalem and Judea and the ends of the earth. That mean that I will see when Jesus coms back and save us so will know what its like to be saved. The verse hat i di for who are We was Matthew 18:15 and it was If your brother rains against you show him his faults just between the two of you and if he listens you have won over you brother. I means that you should show your brother what he did wrong and then  if he listens your won him over.

Promise land

Promise land

While we were studying the promise land we learned that the Israelites had to trust God to get them out of slavery to the promise land. The Israelites had to trust god when they crossed the Jordan.I think it was cool that the ISraelites marched around Jericho for 7 days. After 7 day they yelled at the wall and the wall fell. After we studied the promise land we went wander. The coolest part that we did was when we got to yelled at the wall. When we did that it felt like all of my problems were gone. The picture stands for the wall that the Israelites knock down with the help of God.

A Savior

A Savior

While we were studying A Savior we learned that the Old Testament pointed us to a new covenant. God’s grace and forgiveness was made complete by Jesus our Savior. We also read about when the Savior comes everything will get along perfectly. I think the coolest part about what we read was that a baby can stick its hand in the vipers nest. And the cow will feed with the bear. The picture stand for Jesus our savior he will come again and all we be right in the land.

Names

Names

While we were studying names we learned that YHWH means God in his creation. And we learned that EL means Creator king. We also learned about Elijah’s name and his name means YHWH is God.While we were studying names I learned that my name means famous or noble. If we didn’t study names then I wouldn’t know what my name means. I also learned about my parents names and my brothers name. It was really cool to see what my name meant. The picture stands for me and that i am on of a kind.

Call

Call

While we were studying call we learned that God makes promises with us and we have to respond to them so that we stay in contact with God. God will loves even if we don’t respond to his calls. But we should always respond to God because he brought us in this word and he can send our savior at any time. I don’t think God has called me to do any mission work yet. But soon I bet God will call me to do some work with the less fortunate.  The picture stands for if God calls you will you answer the call.

Salute to a King

Salute to a King

While we were studying kings we learned that Israel wanted a king like everybody else. But they wanted a king that was a powerful general so they could fight other countries. But God didn’t want one of those kings he wanted a Nagid king which was a king chosen by God. We are like the Israelites by wanting what other people have. But God will choose the best thing for us and we will live happy and nothing will bring us down. The picture satnds for the perfect king that God choose for us and his name is Jesus Christ.

December 18

Covenant

images-11-07-10-am

Covenant

While we were studying covenants we learned that their are 2 kinds of covenants. 1 of them is unconditional which means that know matter what happens you will always get they promised you would get no matter what. And conditional covenants are like if someone said if you get an A on yo utest I will give you a donut. But if you don’t get an A then you don’t get a donut. God and I have an unconditional covenant because no matter how many time i sin God will still love with all of his heart. The picture stand for the Israelites and God’s Covenant. No matter what the Israelites did God loved them.

Something is rotten

Something is rotten

While we were studying the kings we study king Ahab. King Ahab was a very bad person he married a baal worshiper who turned the king to worship idols. And the the King told all of the Israelites to worship baal and other idols as well. God didn’t like what was happening so he sent a prophet and his name was Elijah. Elijah was a man of God’s word. Elijah tested baal prophets by seeing which god would light their sacrifices. And of course God light the sacrifice. We can be like the Israelites and worship idols. We could spend more time on earthly things than with God. The picture stand for all of the golden calves that we people can have.
