Earth Day Essay

Why Earth Day Is Important

By:Nolan Mannes

Introduction

Have you wondered how bad the earth is (God’s Creation) on Earth Day? Well if you haven’t, next time you should look around because Earth Day is important because animals don’t have a home, the reefs are dirty, and last but not least there is garbage getting scattered. I hope I convince you to know why Earth Day is important.

Earth Day is important because animals don’t have a home.

Have you ever been to a zoo? If you have, you can tell that most animals have fun, but some animals need to be rescued, and they will have a better life, probably at the zoo. An lli pika, a tiny mammal, has been spotted in China for the first time in 20 years. The animal has been nicknamed “magic bunny.” It is more endangered than the panda. There are fewer than 1,000 in the wild.

Earth Day is important because reefs are dirty.

The Great Barrier Reef is on the end of Australia. The Australian government is taking steps to avoid the in-danger label. This month they announced it will spend 100 million Australian dollars to support a long-term plan called 2050.

Earth Day is important because garbage is getting scattered.

Each year the Ocean Conservancy asks volunteers to spend a day cleaning up beaches. Here are most-found items from 2014’s International Coastal

Cleanup. Cigarette butts: 2,043,470     Food Wrappers: 1,685,422      Plastic beverage bottles: 940,170       Plastic bottle caps: 847,972         Straws and stirrers: 555,007

Closing

Now that you read this essay, I hope I convinced you to know why Earth Day is important because animals don’t have a home, reefs are dirty, and last but not least garbage is getting scattered.
