Literary Essay of Dangerous Journey/Pilgrims Progress

Follow The Hard But Straight Path

By:Nolan Mannes

INTRO

Have you ever been tempted in life? This is a story of a character named                                        Christian that has temptations in life, (takes short cuts). So read my essay    to find out why you should follow the hard but straight path.

You should follow the hard but straight path because there are consequences in life, because risks could lead into trouble, and last but not least God knows what to do, and your suppose to follow his commands. (Keep his promises). (I will give you some times that Christian has had some hard times).

Reason 1

You should follow the hard but straight path because there are consequences in life. One time I have hurt my brother and there was a consequence.

One consequence in Christian’s life was battling Giant Despair. If you’re wondering how he got to this place, I’ll tell you: he took a shortcut of course. When he was there he almost got killed. Since God is always with us, Christian stayed alive.

Reason 2

You should follow the hard but straight path because risks could lead into trouble. There are a lot of people that take risks. For example: Gambling, Smoking, those are a lot of risks that could lead into trouble (jail). One time during Christian’s Journey, Christian came up to the Valley of the Shadow of Death. There was a very very very narrow path that Christian had to walk on. If he took one misstep then he would have been dead.

Reason 3

You should follow the hard but straight because God knows what you need. One time when I was about to do something wrong but then I knew that God was in my heart so I choose the right way. He knows I need a saviour. By believing that I am a sinner I also realize I need a saviour. God has provided Jesus as my Saviour. An example in Christian’s life was when he got to the Cross and his burden (representing his sins) was taken off and he got brand new clothes. That is an example of when Christian followed God’s commands and experiences God’s promises.

Closing

Now that you have read my essay, I hope you follow the hard but straight path because there are consequences in life, because risks could lead into trouble, and last but not least you should follow the hard but straight path because God knows we all need a saviour. Jesus is my Saviour.
