Descriptive Writing

The card that has a book on it reminds of when I went camping at P.J. Hoffmaster. It reminds me of that time because that is when I would sit in my hammock and read a good book. When we went I had so much fun there and felt so relaxed. As I sat there and laid back I could feel the soft breeze brush against my skin. I could see the leaves on the trees moving around as the soft and gentle breeze brushed against them. It was so good to just sit there and not have to be running around. Those days at P.J. Hoffmaster were so very relaxing and exciting. I had fun and spent time with my family.

The hourglass card reminds me of when we went to gun lake for a day. It reminds me of that because the time just flew by because we were having so much fun. We were out tubing on the lake that day and before we realized it it was already time to go. I could hear people’s voices, they sounded so surprised. The time had flown by as fast as a cheetah. That afternoon we had fried fish and it is one of the best fried fish dinners that I have ever had. That day at gun lake was fun, I played in the water, went tubing, and did lot’s of fun stuff.

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Matthew 7:24-25

I believe that the verse that was chosen this year fits the year very well especially since our school turns one hundred this year. The verse that was picked talks about having a firm foundation, during these one hundred years we have had our foundation firm on God which has helped us turn one hundred years. Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world.

As an eighth grader this year the theme means a lot to me. It means a lot to me because when I think about how long the school has been up for with a firm foundation it just amazes me and reminds me to have a firm foundation on Him. The theme also means a lot to me when the verse says that “The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” It means a lot to me because this year my friend Megan is going through a hard time while her Dad has cancer. We just have to trust God whatever happens and keep our faith in him. We need to remember that if we keep our faith in him he will do what is best for us.

The theme this year means a lot to me as a Christian in this world. The theme means a lot to me, because the world is always tempting us to do things that are not right. The verse says that, “The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” If we keep our foundation in him we will not fall into those temptations. It also means a lot to me because we not only need to hear what he says but put it into practice. We need to be an example to others what God want’s us to be like.

Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world. In conclusion I really like the theme that was picked this year because it connects very well with real life and with what is going on with our school.

New Addition

I have enjoyed these days in the new edition because there are so many cool features. One thing that I really like is the air condition, it really helps during the school day. I also like the glass walls they are really cool but sometimes distracting. The furniture in the commons areas are also very cool and I like that there is a lot more space to hang out.  Over all I really like the new addition and it is very cool and advanced.
