  1. Persecution

    April 1, 2014 by sfennema18

Doing this persecution project was an activity that taught me not only about persecution but also about some other stuff going on in Syria. In Syria there is a civil war between two specific groups, the FSA (Free Syrian Army) and the SAA (Syrian Arab Army). The two groups participating in the war are also persecuting the Christians. Christians are scared for their lives, because along with the FSA and the SAA  the Syrian government and sometimes even the Christians families are persecuting them. Many Christians have died in the persecution, some threatened to be killed, some are just scared by the FSA. I also learned that out of all the persecution there is good that is already coming from it, because of the persecution the Christian community is growing. More and more people are converting from Islam to Christianity.

Christian persecution will keep happening for my whole life, so why not help diminish the persecution while I still breath? There are many ways to help the persecuted Christians all over the world, donations, of food money Bibles ect. But I think that the most powerful way to help is to pray. By praying you are putting faith in God and who is more powerful then God? God can work in wonderful ways, I have heard of a woman that had been paralyzed for ten years due to a stroke, but then God healed her and now she believes in God and that he is the one that made her. Another story was about a man with cancer. After being told that he would die soon, the cancer just disappeared. See how powerful prayer can be? I hope that, for my whole life, I will pray for those being persecuted and God will listen to my, and any other prayer, and God will do what is best.
