States of Matter

In Science we are learning about densities. (Densities is mass divided by volume) For example we took Mountain Dew and Diet Coke and put it in water. The Mountain Dew sank and the Diet Coke floated. We think its because the Diet Coke doesn’t have real sugar in it.

Crayons

In science class our teacher asked us to break crayons into small pieces and put them in a bag. we used pencil sharpeners, scissors, potato peelers, cheese graders and much more.

finally we had enough rock/crayon “sediment.” instead of rocks we used crayons. Our project was to pack the crayon pieces into one big rock and wrap it into tinfoil. we put the “sediment” in a heavy spot to pack down the pieces together. then after two weeks we took it back out and this is what it turned out like…..a “rock”

The next week we put heat in the situation. we heated the crayons and put them under pressure the heat made it work way better
