Dear parents,

It was so great to have grandparents/relatives visited our class on Friday. A big thank you to Kristi Van Dyk, Jen Timmer and Brooke Oldenbroek for making the day special for the kids.I will send you some pictures later for you to download.

Up in Lights: Libby Grant Nov.5-9 James Haveman Nov.12-16
Please finish and send your child’s package the week before your child’s special week. During your child’s special week, it is a wonderful opportunity to have lunch with your child, bring in pets, and or share special talents your family members may have been blessed with. Just inform me ahead of time what is your plan.

Curriculum

Language Arts
Daily 5
We will introduce another component of Daily 5 called read with a friend.

Writers’ Workshop:
We will practice labeling things. For the next couple weeks, we will use cut out labels to label things.

Math
More practice 5-groups in numbers 6-10

Science
We will plan and conduct simple investigations into motion. We will identify and demonstrate pushes and pulls.

Bible
The plagues; The passover

We will learn about the fruits of the sprit throughout the year. For the month of November, we will learn about the fruit of peace.

Social Studies
We will focus on science for the next couple months.
