Information and Reminders:

We are going to make the nativity scene while we learn about Christmas stories in December. Each student will need 6 toilet paper tubes and a big shoe box. Please send them in by Friday, Nov. 30. If you have extra toilet paper tubes or shoe boxes, we would love to have them. Thanks!

Please finish and send your child’s package the week before your child’s special week. During your child’s special week, it is a wonderful opportunity to have lunch with your child, bring in pets, and or share special talents your family members may have been blessed with. Just inform me ahead of time what is your plan.

Curriculum

Language Arts

Reading Strategies: point to each character while reading. Each character has one syllable. It is important to make sound and shape connections for our early and emergent readers. 

Writers’ Workshop:

We will practice labeling things. For the next couple weeks, we will use cut out labels to label things. 

Math

More practice 5-groups in numbers 6-10

Science

We will plan and conduct simple investigations into motion. We will identify and demonstrate pushes and pulls. 

Bible 

Out of Egypt; Food and drink in the dessert; the ten commandments; the golden calf

We will learn about the fruits of the sprit throughout the year. For the month of November, we will learn about the fruit of peace. 

Social Studies

We will focus on science for the next couple months.
