Information and Reminders
Continuous Enrollment forms are now PAST DUE. Please make sure you have completed the following for enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year. If you have not completed, please complete as soon as possible.
OPTS (One Page Tuition Form): This is the white form with your tuition numbers on. You would have either picked-up from the office or would have received in the mail from us. Please sign and return.
Gold Transportation Forms: These would have come with your OPTS. Please sign and return.
Continuous Enrollment Form: This is an online form that you would have received in an email on or around March 4th. Please complete this Continuous Enrollment Form.

Wednesday May 8 (Tulip Time): Half day of School
Bus will leave at 11:45 A.M. If you like to pick up your child, please be at school by 11:50 A.M.

Memorial Day Parade: May 27 If I have not hear from you, I will plan on your child marching in the parade.

Farmer’s Market and Kollen Park: Wednesday, May 29 Rain date: Wednesday, June 5 9:00am-12:45pm This is our last field trip. Each kid needs to bring their own sack lunch and drink. We will begin the day following a map of Holland Farmer’s Market and helping the children decide what to buy. We will go to Kollen Park to have lunch and play after the market. We will be back to school around 12:45. I am looking for more drivers for this field trip. From the Immersion Director
Are you looking for summer Spanish or Mandarin activities? Here are four options for your students this summer.
Mandarin: 
–Joecy Fan, our Mandarin FLES teacher will be offering two camps focusing on Chinese language and culture. One will be for immersion students and one will be for non-immersion students. Check out the description in the ZCS ExpandEd book at https://expanded.regfox.com/zcs-expanded-summer-camps  
Spanish: 
–Laura Zondervan will be offering two camps this summer as well. One option is for 4-6 year olds and the other option is for 6-8 year olds. This is also advertised in the ExpandEd Booklet at https://expanded.regfox.com/zcs-expanded-summer-camps
–Brianne Roux, an immersion teacher at the Holland Language Academy, in cooperation with Christ Memorial Church is offering three weeks of Spanish Day camps for immersion students who are entering 2nd-5th grade. See the attached flyer for more information.
–Camp Geneva is offering a Spanish Day Camp for students entering 2nd-4th grade. This is a typical Day Camp experience but offered as fully in Spanish as they are able. Find more information on their website at https://campgeneva.org/summer-camp/day-camp/

Language Arts
Reading Strategies—Practice to read fluently, read to sound like talking

Writers’ Workshop:
We will publish our small moment story this week. We will also going to read some non-fiction book to learn about the text features of non-fiction books.

Math
More math partners under 10.

Science
We will start our last PBL about animals this coming week. We will choose an animal we want to learn more about and brainstorm questions.

Bible
We will go back to the Old Testament and learn about Samuel and the Kings: Samuel’s birth; Samuel’s call; Israel wants a king and Saul anointed

We will learn about the fruits of the sprit throughout the year. For the month of May, we will learn about the fruit of self-control.
