Calico Captive is a book about a girl who gets captured by Indians.

Chapter 1 summery

There was a big party and I  was in my lovely dress a fine young man came over to talk to me we talk almost all night. The party was almost over everyone was leaving. we still talk. It got to midnight and he said it was late  and he had to go.

Capter 2 summery

Again we had a party. Susan my married sister that had 3 kids asked me if i would like to move with then to a different location because the Indians  were getting much closer and it was far to dangers  there. I was so exited I said yes and said when we were going to leave.  The next morning we set of and left or house. We got everything ready  in are new house and by the time we were done it was very late we all got to bed. I herd a weird sound coming from down stairs the noise woke susan up to… It was her husband but then the Indians came!

Chapter 3 summery

the indians grabbed us and dragged us out side and ran we were all so scared. We did not know what they weree going to do to us. it was pich black and the kids were so tired that the indians had to carrie them on the shoulder. When we got very far from are new house we rested. In the morning we saw  the black old horse from the fort. They on tided Susanna’s husband james  and told him to go get the horse so they could us  him to put  all the stuff they stole  on his back. So james went and grabbed  the horse. the horse was old but he could carrie stuff. Susanna was as slow as ever and  she needed to rest. when they rested for a bite she went in to labor. THey baby was named Captive

Chapter 4

I can talk indian said Sylvanus. What do you want to talk indian for snapped Mariam. It is a bad language. They walked for a little longer when they came to a river. It looked deep and the current was strong. However the indians new were to cross it was shallower there so they started to cross. James carried little baby Captive over his head. Suddenly james fell and let go of the baby. Mariam jumped in and grabbed the baby but she could not. THe current pulled her down the river. Mariam tried  to keep the baby up out of the  water but it was hard. she grabbed on the a log and a indian came and rescued them.

Chapter 5

The indians brought  them to a sandy  place and people started to come yelling and they got in a line but did not want them. Then other indians came and took them they got sold to the indian tribe. They all worked hard all the older ons at least the young ons just played. Mariam went out side and saw Susanna with the baby Captive. Mariam was so exited to see her sister. ON Sunday a catholic priest came and said how is the baby. Mariam ask Susanna how she new him and she said he did not. A weak later the bell rang for church. Mariam and Susanna were out side and the priest came and said are you coming to church. Susanna had a sad look in her eye. The  priest said if she was alright then she answered him and said the baby Captive died.
