I am traveling from California to Michigan. It is 1,838 miles. It takes me 36 hours. I want to know how many miles per hour I was going. So to start out, I need to do 1,838 divided by 36. The answer is 5.2222222222.I round down to 5.22. This means I am going 5.22 m/h.

Bowling Afternoon
Yesterday we went to Hudsonville Lanes with our grade. I was in Lane 16 with Chloe, Taylor, and Sydney. Maleia, Rachel, Haley and Laura were in the lane next to us. It was really rainy. I rode with Anneka’s mom and Anneka, Taylor, Chloe, and Sydney. We had a ton of fun. We got this paper about different ways you can do it, one was bowl with your eyes closed, another was bowl with your opposite hand, and another one was lay on your stomach and push it with your hands. That was really fun.
Metaphor Writing
Meadow
I am a meadow. A meadow has green grass, flowers, and it is mostly flat ground. There are a few prickers though. It is sunny and warm weather. Close by, a pretty butterfly fluttered in the wind. I have not been through many hard things in my life, that is why I have chosen it. God has blessed me with a great family, a nice school, and good friends. I am so grateful that He gave me what I have.
The prickers in the meadow represent hard things. There have been a few hard things in my life. It was hard when my great grandpa and grandma died. When we were visiting my grandma and grandpa, my grandma was supposed to ride home with me and my brother on the plane. She got a call from her brother saying that her mom was getting more sick. She had a blood infection. My grandma told us she would not be able to ride home with us. A few weeks later my great grandma died. After we got home, we had to start packing to leave to go back again. It was hard to see my grandma go through this hard time. It was also hard when my great grandpa died. He died before my great grandma. He was really nice and always smiling. Through hard times, I still try to trust God because I know he has a plan for me.
The flowers represent all the good things in my life. I am so grateful to be able to go to a Christian school. I sometimes forget how lucky I am. Another thing I am thankful for is living in the U.S. I do not think how blessed I am to be able to live in a country with safety, without poverty, and tons of crime. Finally, I am thankful for great family and friends. I am so privilaged to have people who care about me so much. I thank God for blessing me, even though most of the time I take it for granted.
The flat ground represents that God will always help me keep going through life by either holding me steady, or being steady himself. I trust he will never abandon me. This means that through the many hard trials I know I may face through life, I know God will always be by my side; even when I can’t see him there in human form, I can feel him there.
Jesus’ Crucifixion
When Jesus was crucified he said 7 statements. Here is the main them of each of them: Empathize with humanity, trust the Sovereign God, exercise obedience to the will of the father, have compassion on people; care for the needs of this life, persevere to the completion of the goal set before us, offer hope to the hopeless, and desire that forgiveness be granted. We put ways we could show these in real life on the posters around the room. It was interesting to learn more about Jesus’ last words and what they meant.
Math Word Problem-Pythagorean Theorem
If a helicopter flies north 12 miles, then turns east and flies 6 miles, how many miles would it be to fly back to it’s starting point? The shape is a triangle.
So for this question, the equation would be 12+ 6= c
12 squared is 144 and 6 squared is 36.
So the updated equation would be: 144+36= c
When you add the two together it is 180. So now, you have to find the square root of 180.
The closest you can get to the answer would be:
13.42
…because 13.42 x 13.42= 180.0964
