A partner and I had to create a project about Wind Erosion.

1. This project is an example of when the wind blows and wears away large rocks.

2. The second project shows that different types of dunes are shaped depending on how the wind blows.

3. This project shows that over time the wind wears away  the ground and removes the surface particles. It makes the ground lower than before.

4. The last example is of rocks that get hit with large particles in the wind which cause them to become dented. These are called ventifacts.

Volcano Project

For science we had to make a volcano out of a play dough like substance. We had to label 10 things and we painted it. When we put the clay around the bottle, it kept slipping off, so we had to keep putting more on. Sometime this week we will put ketchup, baking soda, and vinegar in the bottle and it will explode out of the top and out of some straws that are side vents. The ketchup makes it red, which will make it look like lava. It did not work as well as I would’ve liked, but it turned out okay.

Climate Change Project

We are doing a project to help stop global warming. Trees have oxygen and that can help the atmosphere from global warming. We are raising money to plant trees on ZCS property. We have only raised one dollar so far, so please help! To donate money, go to the office and ask where to donate money for global warming. For more information go to: http://prezi.com/7rrmnfk8q1vw/edit/#19_13696309 This will also be in the ZCS blue note.

Science

In science class we have been making crayons into “sediment” like rocks do after they have been hit with other rocks. We do this by shredding them with cheese shredders or potato peelers. Then we put them into foil an put them under great pressure just like rocks get. After a week we went and got them. Mine was under a trombone shelf. It becomes to be put together like rocks get put together.
