Reflecting as a Learner

1. I like spanish because I get to improve in another language. In spanish we are learning about an official language in the US. In bible we are learning about the crucifixion and the last hours before Jesus got crucified. In science we are learning about earthquakes and tectonic plates and how earthquakes are created, there are three different ways that plates can go they are, convergent, divergent, and transform.

2.A skill that I learned is how to stay physically healthy in health and fitness. I have to eat healthily, which means lots of fruits and vegetables. It’s also good to have carbs and meat, but in moderation. Another skill is how to write a complete paragraph. A complete paragraph has to have at least five sentences. In math I am learning how to find the percentage of a number. And how to make box and whisker plots, line plots, and frequency tables.

3.The way I learned the best is when I work in groups. I think it’s nice when their are people working with me so that if I have any questions than they can help me. I also learn quickly if we play a game online or not. Games help me when it comes to tests because I can just connect it to one of the questions in the game and I’ll have the answer. I like to connect studying and learning to other stuff like if I’m memorizing bible memory and theres a long word than I think of a shorter word that I can remember and that has something to do with the hard word. That way I can remember the word for the test.

I am enjoying science class because we have lots of experiments and games. Like how we played speed ball with questions to study for our test.  I also like bible/spanish because we do lots of videos and skits. We also do lots of fun projects in spanish.

Stress

One thing that gives me stress is when I have to public speak/sing. It gives me stress because I think i’m going to mess up, sound wrong or say the wrong word. I’ve learned to take deep breaths and not think about it until it’s that time. I want to be able to learn how to talk in front of a group of people without getting so nervous or anxious. I’m going to try to respond by playing outside to keep my mind off of it. That way I get my exercise and I don’t have as much stress! I also want to spend time with my family and friends and tell them what is stressing me out because that can sometimes help if someone you trust can help me through the hard time.
