Picture Book Reflection

My whole grade and I made picture books. When we were finished with them we shared our picture books with 1st graders. My favorite part of the process was decorating my pictures. I enjoyed making all the pictures in my book. I loved putting little extra thing on my pictures, to keep the little 1st graders interested. It was so much fun seeing all the little 1st graders reaction when they saw my pictures. Touching all the different feelings. If I would change anything I think I would change the way I worded the words. When I was doing my words there was sometimes that I had no clue what I should write. I learned a lot from this project. In all my life I never would have guessed that I would have wrote a picture book. I still remember the first time teacher told me class that we were going to making picture books. I got so scarred that the 1st graders wouldn’t like my book. Now I realize that if I set my mind to something I can accomplish it. I loved doing my picture book and I would love to do it again.

Tim’s Message

We had a chapel on Thursday, and Tim came to share with us a challenge that he had for us. What his disability was and how he used it to bring God praise. Tim has a disability that makes him have brittle bones. When he was born he broke about 20 bones, and his parents had to care him home on a pillow. The doctors told Tim’s parents to love him, because he would only live for a day. God has been blessing Tim and his family, because Tim is now 18. The decorators were always confused when Tim would come for surgery and he would be so relaxed.  Tim would share the gospel with the doctors. Tim knew no matter what would happen to him, God let it happen for a reason. We all are like Tim. We all have some type of disability. It could be not having the ability to do sports, not being able to draw, or even having struggles with school work. Tim challenged us to use our disabilities to point people to God. To also use them to bring God praise. I think Tim was a great example of our theme this year which is Go. The theme verse is Matthew 28:19 Therefore go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the  name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Tim has really impacted me by using his disability to bring the Lord praise. Hearing that what he had to say just touched my heart. Tim really impacted me to use my disabilities to praise God and to show others who God is.

Immigration Day

On Tuesday, February 11, 2014, we interviewed people that have migrated from a place to the U.S.   My group and I interviewed Mr. Drost.   Mr. Drost was born in the Netherlands.  Mr. Drost immigrated from the Netherlands to Canada, and from Canada to the U.S.  He moved to the U.S. from Canada, because of collages.  The reason Mr. Drost, his mom, and dad moved from the Netherlands to Canada, is his dad was working in a bank and he wanted a new job.  Canada and the U.S. are pretty much the same so it didn’t take long for Mr. Drost to august here.  Canada and the U.S. both speak english, and that also helped Mr. Drost to august here.  Mr. Drost met his wife here.  Him and his wife decided to stay in the U.S. The money in the U.S. and Canada is very different, and both has it’s own value.
