Africa Entry Event

My grade and I are studying countries in Africa. Our teachers told us a little about Africa. On Thursday we had to write on a google doc the first thing that came to our minds when we heard the word Africa. A word that came up the most was poor. We always assume that people in Africa are poor. But a good amount of Africa are not poor. Only in some areas have poorer people. Then we had to guess by looking at people’s faces who was born in Africa and who wasn’t. On Friday we learned about Africa with cards. We all picked out a card. When one of our teachers read a certain thing that described our card we stood up. I learned that a lot of people in South Africa have a cell phone. But in some other places don’t own their own cell phone. In some areas most children only live till their one years old. But in other areas most people live till 54 or older. Some countries in Africa are more developed countries than others. I would like to learn more about the people in Africa. How their county works like the government, trading/manufacturing,  the population, and the climate.
