9-7 Weekly Update

September 7, 2018

Dear Mom and Dad,

This week was good. Let me tell you about it.

The best part of my week was band because I got to play my clarinet .

In math, I learned that a unit fraction a unit fraction is that the numerator is always one. In science, we brainstormed traits of a great scientist. For example, a great scientist ask questions and and writes a lot of stuff down  and. An interesting word I found is Vociferous, wafted and enthusiastically Lastly, one way I can be a good steward is by helping the people by giving them what they need.

Update from Mrs. Hall: Another week of growth and learning in 5th grade! We have begun to develop classroom routines that allow us to be independent learners in reading, writing and spelling. In bible, we spent time understanding God’s call to be good stewards over the earth. In math, we started our unit on fractions, with a focus on unit fractions and equivalent fractions. We began discussing the traits of a great scientist so that we can live them out in our own science investigations, and will begin an inquiry into earth’s systems next week. We did our first bible memory on Psalm 46:1, and I am eager to see scripture get tucked away into each child’s heart this year! Thank you to those that came out to parent night, it was great to see you again!

  • Orange folders signed this weekend! Don’t forget to try to read every night 🙂
  • Field Trip to Van Raalte Civil War Muster September 14… Please let me know ASAP if you want to chaperone, and send a copy of your driver’s license and proof of insurance to cpapay@zcs.org. Student permission slips due by Thursday.
  • Memory verse due Friday, Sept. 14: Psalm 46:2
“Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea”
  • Next week we will be getting our first set of spelling words, with a test next Friday

We can talk more this weekend!

Pitch Day

My group went with Mr. Bouman his offer  was $50.00 and $3.00 for interest and that is what are group went with.

My group did really good  but we were nerves at the start.

It was hard to pick a offer  and it was fun presenting.

Market day

What I want are group to make that was based on are graph  is root beer float because it is easy to make and it is not so expensive and it does not have so much stuff to make.

What the parents consultants is that we should make root beer float because it is not hard to make.

What I learned this week

This is what I learned about this week.

In social studies  i learned about Ellis Island were family went on a boat but lots of people did not make it because they had sickness.

The people that did not make it they had to go back to there county  or the had to go to some rooms For the doctors with the people who had sickness.

The materials we had were spray paint

Safety on the internet

I learned about safety and safety is a good thing to learned for the internet.

Something else I learned about is be strong on the internet because if some one sends you a mean  message you need to be strong about the message.
