Phantoms in the Snow  By: Kathleen Benner Duble

This book is an amazing book about a 14 year old boy who joins the phantoms or a skiing unit in the ww2 time period. He is just a young boy named Noah and was from Texas.

In the beginning he gets sent to join his uncle in a training camp and he has to make friends and get used to the cold. After surviving a harsh training in the rocky mountains they go to Texas because he is about to get shipped over to france to fight the Germans. In the ship they didn’t get very  good food or entertainment so they were stuck playing cards. In France they didn’t get a 5 star hotel they got the opposite they got a barn in someones backyard. They go out on patrols every night but they have to carry 60 pounds of gear and that gets tiring. They finally get the call to go out on a mission will they live or will they die you have to read to find out.

My favorite in the book is when he finally learns how to repel and they get the weekend off so they go to town and repel off the roof of a hotel.

This book is great for people who love ww2 books and are looking for a quick book.
