The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, is going to be having a cup of coffee with two people. The only thing is, they must pay a lot of money. Cook is willing to donate one hour of his time to spend with 2 lucky people. Cook went onto a online auction site to start the bidding for this coffee time. Thursday night the bid was currently set at two hundred and ten thousand dollars with nineteen days left in the bidding. But all this money in the end is going to a good cause at a charity called The RFK center for justice and human rights. Around one hundred and eighty thousand dollars is considered a bargain for time with the CEO of the worlds largest Tec. Company. Last year a bidder ended up paying 3.4 million to have lunch with Warren Buffett. A bunch of other celebrities are taking place in this auction such as Carrie Underwood, Peyton Manning, David Lettermen and a lot more. But there will be no live tweeting or any social things available. Not even record or draw pictures of the moment.

I think that this is a good thing for Tim Cook to do because all of the richer people and celebrities get to give their money to a good cause and still get to meet Tim Cook. I was a little bit surprised to that the most powerful man in Tec. Would be making a charity. I kinda think that it might be a little much to pay to meet the CEO of a company but I guess if some people want to spend it that way, its going the charity so its all good.

The Story

(CNN) — Apple CEO Tim Cook might soon be sharing Silicon Valley’s most expensive cup of coffee.

Sometime in the next year, Cook will sit down for a cup of mud with someone who has paid at least $210,000 for the privilege.

Apple fandom taken to its craziest, and costliest, extreme? Perhaps. But it’s all for a good cause.

Cook has volunteered, through the online-auction site Charity Buzz, to share up to an hour of his precious time with two lucky (and deep-pocketed) winners. Proceeds from the auction will go to The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights, an international nonprofit founded as a memorial to Robert F. Kennedy by his family and friends.

Apple maps move indoors

In the auction’s first day, Cook had gotten 52 bids, starting at $5,000 and spiraling upward quickly. The leading bid Thursday evening was $210,000, and there were still 19 days to go until bidding closes May 14.

The coffee chat will happen at Apple’s Cupertino, California, headquarters. The winner may bring along one guest.

The move fits in with the more open public persona Cook has adopted since replacing late Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs. One of the knocks on Jobs was that he never contributed much of his considerable fortune, or celebrity, to charity — at least not in the public ways other tech titans like Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg have.

By some measures, a $180,000 coffee meeting with the chief of the world’s leading tech company might be a bargain. An anonymous bidder paid $3.4 million last year for lunch with investor Warren Buffett.

Gladwell: In 50 years, people will forget Steve Jobs

Other celebs taking part in the auction for the RFK Center include Robert DeNiro, Alex Trebek, Carrie Underwood, Peyton Manning, William Shatner and David Letterman.

But if you think Apple’s typical hyper-controlling approach to its world will be relaxed during Cook’s coffee klatch, think again. For one, there will be no live-tweeting.

“The winner cannot blog, social network, talk to press, write about, take pictures or record during the experience in any way due to security regulations,” reads the auction’s legal terms.

Visitors will be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement and are subject to a security screening.

“We expect all winning bidders and their guests to conduct themselves appropriately when attending an experience won at Charitybuzz,” the terms continue. “Polite manners and respect for the generous donor and adherence to any rules or parameters are a must.”

Travel and lodging for the visit, which will last between 30 minutes and an hour, are not covered. No word on whether Cook will pick up the tab for the coffee.

The Senate Session of Buffalo

I enjoyed all the conflicts and funny opinions.  What surprised me is how many people like pink.  what frustrated me what that there is no buffalo in the middle.  I learned about my self that i like buffalos.  That everyone in my class has different opinions.  I learned that the government has lots of problems with bills and stuff like that.  The world has lots of different opinions and every person does.  i will be more careful about my opinions and where i put them.   I will sometimes agree with people and not be stubborn and make a compromise.

one of my favorite parts was with the flag. i liked how everyone was just making the flag “original”.  i would change hardly anything.
