European Exploration

Why did the Europeans decided to explore in the 1490’s

Because that’s when the Turks took over Constantinople.

Where King John of Portugal wanted to sail

Around Africa to find the Indies to get gold and spices.

Where Queen Isabella of Spain wanted to sail

West to find a new route to the Indies to get gold and spices. Christopher Columbus was the first European to go west to find a new route to the Indies.
