These past weeks I have been studying persecution of Christians. I learned so many things that I would never have found out if it weren’t for this amazing project. I learned that all over the world every day over 300 Christians are persecuted. And out of those 300, 60% are children, from ages 0-16. Honestly I didn’t think persecution happened all the time. I thought maybe someone killed a Christian for his or her faith like once a month or something. But thats far from correct. I studied persecution in Indonesia. It has the larges Muslim population in the world, and only 10% of the population is Christian. The Muslims burn down churches, put Christians in jail, abuse them verbally and physically, up to the point of killing them, and I thought that persecution hardly happened?!?! Woah, I was blind.
Every year millions of Christians are killed, and we need to help them. Right now I’m doing the 5 minute challenge. Its where you take 5 minutes out of every day to pray for the persecuted, it sounds hard, but think of all the time you have. There are many things you can do to help. Right now, Im helping the persecuted by making this post on my blog, letting people know whats going on around the world. I could raise money for them, support them, send them cards. But out of all the things you could do, praying is the best thing you could ever do for someone. Prayer is VERY powerful, its worth way more than money and can give you much more than money could ever get you, God’s love and the calmness you get when you know he’s with you. Money cant get you that, no matter how much you have.
Now remember, people of all ages need your prayer right now. Take 5 minutes RIGHT NOW to pray for the persecuted. And keep in mind that it means the world to them to know that you are thinking of them, even if its only 5 minutes.
Give them Hope for another day.
