Poems
Book by Leah Cooper
My family is a book.
My Mom is the outside of the book. She holds us all together and keeps us in place, where we should be.
My Dad is the author. He loves coming up with fun family adventures and using his mind to figure things out.
Maggie is the illustrator. She loves being creative and giving us a great visual about life.
I am the end of the book. The last chapter. I love putting a great twist on things and giving others their happy ending.
Summer by Leah Cooper
I’m so excited summer is here
So now I can lay out in the sun
With friends from far and near
I can play until the day is done
My pool goes for an infinity
I get to walk on the burning sand
I can swim across the sea
Until I reach dry land
The Price Is Right
The past two weeks we have been learning about probability with Mrs. Zastrow. We spent several class periods watching the TV game show, “The Price Is Right.” After watching “The Price Is Right” games, we were given the task of creating our own game based on probability. After we completed our game, we had to present our game to our other classmates.
The past 2 weeks, I learned about probability. I learned that in the TV show game, PLINKO, there is no probability, but it’s all luck. I also learned that several of the games in “The Price Is Right” have a very low probability of being won by the contestant. The key to making these games is for there to be less than a 50% chance of being won by the contestant. Most of the games in “The Price Is Right” have a very low chance of being won.
Between group math and individual math through IMath, I got to see many similarities and differences between the two. In IMath we go at our own pace, where as with a group we all work together and say at the same pace. For example, if I had done this individually, there is a good chance it would’ve been done in less or more time. Since we did it as a group, we all got done at the same time. As far as learning more or learning less, I think I learned about the same as I would’ve in IMath, if anything I learned a little less. I definitely enjoyed this.
