The Stoning of Stephen
(poem)
Stephen was a very good man
He loved Jesus and told people about Him across the land
All to share God’s amazing plan
Peoples hearts with hope he filled
It was a shame they had him killed
He spoke against the actions of the people
Outside the Sanhedrin right under the steeple
Stephen told them they were not following God
That what they were doing was a fraud
He said that he saw heaven open
That the people would listen was what Stephen was hoping
When the members of the Church heard this
They got mad at Stephen then furious
They beat him and broke his bones
They hit him with rocks and stones
While they were stoning him
He prayed to God all though his situation was looking grim
Pressure on the outside of the church the Jewish leaders applied
It was for this reason that Stephen died
Questions
- I made a poem
2. My creativity and thoughtfulness with the rhyming and use of pressure on the outside of the church.
3. I would be terrified and honestly I probably would have thrown.
4. I would think he is kinda odd because he is helping the people who are stoning his friend
5. Because they knew it was important and God spoke to them.
