For Science class we attempted to make egg towers out of spaghetti noodles, marshmallows, and tape. We also had a budget and we had to pay for everything we used. I think we could’ve used more tape and less marshmallows. I also think we could’ve done better if we got insurance. Over all it was really fun, I don’t know how it will do on the earthquake machine but I hope it will do good.
This year in math so far I have done a chapter about scientific notation. Scientific notation is when you get a number like this 4.27*10^5 and you change it to 427,000. You can also change it around and do 2,340,000, this would be 2.34*10^4. You can use this in real life if you want to cut down on some 0’s in a letter or something. If you were writing that something cost’s $234,300,000,000,000,000,000 You can shorten it to $2.343*10^20. This way if you are writing a letter its shorter so it can save paper, and it doesn’t look like it costs so much.
We were told for this blog day we had to make up a word problem and solve it…so here it is!
The second angle is a right angle 2 times as large as the first. The 3rd angle is the same size as the first. Find the angle measures and draw a possible figure.
For this problum you know the 2nd angle is 90 degrees, a.k.a a right angle. the second angle is twice as large as the first, so that would be the same as the 1st angle is half as large as the 2nd, half of 90 is 45. The 3rd angle is the same as the 1st, 45. So we now have 90 for the 1st angle, 45 for the 2nd and 3rd.

In math this year so far I learned how to figure out what kind of number a number is. Every number is considered a number, then there is a real number or not real number. A not real number is a number that does not exist like 4/0 or the square root of -16. A real number is either Rational or irrational, irrational numbers are numbers that never repeat or end. A rational number is one that does repeat or end. like 0. 26 or 5 or -294. A type of rational number is Integer, that is any number that is not a decimal, positive or negative. Then there is a type of integer that is called whole, that is a number no decimal and only positive. Thats everything to do.
