What I learned in math this week: I learned how to solve two step equations with rational numbers. I learned how to multiply on both sides to make the equation balanced. Also I learned how to divide to make the equation equal on both sides. I also learned how add or subtract on both sides of the equation to balance it.

Theme Writing

they have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the end of the world.

Last year at leadership camp, we the future eight graders took time to find inspiring bible verses that could possibly be a theme for the coming year. After rounds and rounds of voting we settled on shout silently, actions that speak. I can use the theme shout silently not only at school, but when I am interacting with people anywhere and at any time.

When I am at school I can shout silently by including everyone in activities and while doing group projects. I also can encourage teammates during sports during and after school. An other way I can shout silently is to be kind to younger kids in different grades. And finally I simply have a good attitude about school in general.

I can also use the theme shout silently in the world outside of the classroom. I could be kind to my siblings when I have had a bad day. I could also be nice to the younger kids in my neighborhood. Another way to shout silently is to simply say hi to people you meet on the street. I can also do chores at home without needing to be asked.

I can use the theme shout silently not only at school, but when I am interacting with people anywhere and at any time. The purpose of life is not to get rich and to do whatever it takes to be happy. The purpose of life is so that we can glorify God in everything we do and to help others come to know God in our community.
