The stoning of Stephen

Stephen’s Stoning Article

In the book of Acts it said that they were doing pretty good, life was good, the number of disciples were increasing by a lot and the widows past out food to the people that really needed it.  They needed another disciple to help guide the peoples heart in the right direction. Through a lot of thinking they thought of a young man named Stephen, Stephen is a young man with a “heart of gold”, he was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ and you could clearly see it through his actions towards people and God. He was perfect so they all voted so that it would be fair. But without a question Stephen Won!!!!! He was chosen from the village to be the disciple of God and to teach others in the village about God, he knew so much about how God loves him and others. There was a man who came that declared they were Christians and Stephen said no you don’t know the first thing about God and they were very mad at Stephen. So Stephen of course knew that he was going to die but he wanted to accomplish one more thing before he died and that was to make sure that the whole village knew about the great promise that God gave to them. Stephen talked about the great promises that God gave to others. The whole village was happy to know that God had a promise for them and they would find that out sooner or later. But sadly Stephen was stoned that day. He died loving Jesus and speaking about Jesus’s love to others. I think that we should all take that chance of dying for speaking of the good news that Jesus had said Stephen is a good example that we should think about that their are people today being killed for their faith and their testimony.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a person who comes in your heart when you ask Jesus to come into your heart and into your heart, the Holy spirit comes. He helps guide you in the right path and helps you understand my prayers and my faith he is always their he never quits he never takes a day off from helping with your faith journey, he is in your heart for you to ask if this is a good or mad decision he is almost like another moral compass. He is sent from God so he belongs to God if you ever leave him you have to let the Holy Spirit stay back with God that is your choice. The good thing is that if you do sin the Holy Spirit won’t leave you he will just make your faith stronger.

He has really helped me with my faith and making the right decisions through my day to day life. He has truly made my faith the way it is today. He is in my heart and he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. He will stay their because my faith would be in pieces without the Holy Spirit. He helps me stay away form any temptation that the world throws out at me. He makes me understand the importance of prayer and what it can do for me and the people in my community he helped me as I wen’t to the Philippines. Without the Holy Spirit in my heart today I would not have gone to the Philippines at all. I can’t live my life the way I do today without him.

Jesus’ Crucifixion

This past week our class has been learning and talking about the seven last words of Jesus and about his crucifixion. One of the seven last words of Jesus is Trust the sovereign God, that was especially important to me and close to my heart because I have a hard time just trusting in God. Because I feel like I just want it all to be my way I want to plan my future but I have been praying about God giving me the power of trusting in him. It’s hard but my goal is to place my heart in God’s hands and trust that he will do what ever he has planned for me. Jesus’ crucifixion is something very important that we need to know about because God has one son and he decided to give his only son to die on a cross for us to be forgiven so that when we sin which we all do we can ask for forgiveness and God will forgive us. We need to praise God and love Jesus because of what they had done for us.

Math word Problem

Nicole wanted to bake cookies, the only problem was that she wanted to know how much flower and sugar she needed in total. She needed 2 1/4 of a cup of flower and 3/4 0f a cup of sugar. How much flower and sugar does she need in total?

The first step is look at the numbers you have, if it’s an mixed number then you need to change it to an improper fraction. Take 2 1/4. 4 times 2 is 8 plus times one the answer is 8/4, you stay with the same denominator. Then take 3/4  the only problem is when you’re adding fractions you need to have the same denominator in this case we do add them across the answer is 24/4 simplify is 6.

What I learned in math

This week I learned that when you have a more than or equal to sign, and when you’re dividing or multiplying, you change the sign around. I feel like that is important because you will get the answer all wrong if you don’t. I think that this is important to know!

Theme Writing

They have no speech, They use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the Earth,Their words to the end of the world. Psalm 19:3-4

Last May we went to camp Roger for leadership camp, we talked about the responsibilities of being the leader of the school. We also choose a theme verse, Shout “silently -actions that speak”

As an 8th grader I am going to grow closer to God and the people around me.

Their is so many was I could shout silently in school but here are some was I have decided to challenge myself in school. Because i’m a small group leader I have the responsibility of welcoming the 6th and even the 7th graders into small group, also welcoming the 6th graders into middle school, making then feel apart of middle school. I believe as an 8th grader I should set the example of picking up trash, helping kids that are slower then the others, helping others with school work, and making friends with them even if their in 6th or 7th grade.

To shout silently not only in school but at home and in our community I have decided to, help with my younger siblings so my parents can do what they need to get done, help with dinner, set the table, and help a neighbor. To set an example for everyone around me. By doing these things without being asked.

As an 8th grader I am going to grow closer to God and the people around me.

I’m exited to shout silently to everyone around me be the hands and feet of God this year, also be who God has made me to be, I ready to be a good roll model this year to younger and older kids in school and out of school.
